Also, I have a crush on Officer Lucas.
Too bad that most of the convicted owners only get proation and/or a fine.

Do you ever find yourself watching this show and wanting to kill/slap/mutilate the abusive owners?

Right? Like that semi-retarded Russian one that had 15 or 16 of them and Lucas and the other one made her choose only one to keep because she was feeding them
rice?
It's not those that piss me off - they're either legitimately crazy or mentally handicapped. It's the assnozzles that tie up a dog in the backyard with no shelter in an ice storm that I want to kill. |

I have nothing but respect and admiration for Officer Lucas et al, but goddamn if I can't watch this show. It depresses the crap out of me. I'm not
even joking, I get very angry and even sad. Heck, that ASPCA commercial with Sarah McLaughlin makes me cry every time.

I'm with you kitty but I do watch a lot. I cry every episode though. The one that stands out to me is the one where the owner kept 2 pit bull pups locked
in an empty apartment bathroom &, if I recall correctly, they starved to death or were near death. When they autopsied one they found chunks of a crockery
food bowl in it's stomach. Poor thing was so hungry it ate it's own bowl!
The hoarders make me ill. Real nut jobs. I hate seeing the squallor the humans live in much less what they put the animals through. But the puppy mills take the cake. One woman saw nothing at all wrong with what she was doing. She needed to fry for what she did to those poor animals. I'm even more concerned about all this because I live in a small town that has no SPCA or even an animal shelter. I live in the country outside the city limits & we get tons of strays dumped out here regularly. Mom & I do what we can & right now we're working with the newly elected sheriff to get some sort of shelter started. Someone has donated the land but backing is needed. |

Same here Fluffy. People out here dump puppies/kittens all the time.
I watch this show a lot, because there's not much else on at 2am, but it makes me cry at least 75% of the time. I don't know what the fuck is wrong with someone who enjoys beating the crap out of a defenseless animal. And the hoarders! Ugh. I saw an episode (I think it was in Detroit) where they went to this house that literally had garbage piled 5 feet high. They had to come back the next day to give the homeowner time to clear a path to her own damn bedroom! Nasty. It's kind of sad that no one cares enough about these people to stop them from living like that. |

yeah - the Detroit ones are good. I like Officer Snoop Dogg.
They had one on today where the Black Lab had a broken foot that the owner had duct taped. They had to amputate the whole leg due to infection. The owner got a $250.00 fine. The worst part is the way the animals - no matter what this shitty life has thrown at them, no matter how bad they've been treated and beaten - they usually still wag their tails for the officers. |

yeah, it's amazing how much trust these animals put in people in spite of the apalling way they've been treated. I wish I had the fortitude to go into
this line of work, but I'm having a hard time just reading this thread. I really respect the people who are out there doing this for a living.

Houston has a lot of starving horses. They always make me sad.

The one I'll always remember is the Detroit house that was full of cats. It took like 3 days to get them all out. Most of the cats were feral at that
point, and they were attacking the officers.
