Uh, how is someone who excels in EVERYTHING except holding his breath "overall worst"? Your system votes out the best. The current system votes out the worst. If you really want the game to encourage competition, then you need to make tribes last longer, rather than making the game individual at the merge. That way the worst are consistently voted out as weak links in challenges, rather than the best being voted out as threats to win.
That's because the show turns individual at the merge. Once the game turns individual, then the best players are naturally going to be targetted more because of how strong they are in challenges. During the tribal portion, the only way a tribe will vote out a strong member is if that player is a complete douchebag, and even then, the tribe would have to be stupid to do so. Note how tribes that vote out their strongest members tend to do poorly. This is a deterrent to booting the strong. There's no deterrent to booting the strong under Artiee's system.
