Are you kidding? Don't forget the whole voting strategy of voting off past winners, which was mentioned every time a prior wininer's name was brought up. Or numerous mentions of Richard's "legendary" status, or even, indirectly, the skirmish between Rich and Sue, which was based on their relationship before. Someone mentioned Jerri and Tina's difficult relationships and the fact that they were now on the same tribe again.

And don't forget that most of the challenges were "recycled classics", mentioned up front by Jeff himself.

I actually think that they played UP past mentions on All-Stars in contrast to squelching them on other seasons--it certainly was in keeping with the theme.

You are assuming that she didn't learn about him through campe stories from Todd et al. Remember, they have LOTS of time just sitting around and talking; even if someone had never seen the show before, a fan like Todd would have probably told them all of the major "plot points" of the various seasons.
