Once isn't enough for 'Swingtown'
Sexual liberation is swinging by cable. Bravo has acquired the exclusive cable rights for the original 13 episodes of CBS' summer drama "Swingtown," the channel announced this week. "Swingtown" focused on the sexual and social liberation in 1970s American suburban households. In July of 1976, Susan and Bruce Miller (Molly Parker, Jack Davenport) move to an upscale Chicago suburb and get pulled into their new neighbors' (Grant Show, Lana Parrilla) provocative lifestyle that includes open marriages and key parties. "Swingtown" launched to strong numbers in June but suffered declining viewership, eventually averaging 4.9 million viewers and a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating. The show joins Bravo's previous scripted acquisitions, "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and "The West Wing." The show will make its cable network premiere later this fall. The fate of "Swingtown" on CBS is still up in the air |

Entertainment Weekly reported the same news, as well. It also speculated that if Swingtown got the ratings during it's rerun that maybe
(EW crosses it's fingers) Bravo could take over the series, which is where it should have been in the 1st place.
We swingers could only hope! |

DVD Review
Swingtown: Season 1 Revisit the summer of '76 - in its bell-bottomed, disco-ball-spinning, free-loving glory - with Swingtown: Season 1, the CBS series that follows three suburban couples as they explore the politics of spouse swapping. The topic may have been more suited to cable, but creator Mike Kelley drew on provocative themes - e.g., women shattering gender stereotypes by entering the workforce - that allowed the protagonists to embrace the sexual revolution...without showing salacious amounts of skin. Extras include an entertaining featurette that dissects the sets (very authentic!) and characters. One producer thinks of sophisticated swingers Tom and Trina (Grant Show and Lana Parrilla) in a ''Great Gatsby-like way,'' calling them ''the shining couple across the street.'' Exactly why we'd get in bed with them - er, the show. B+ Now available! |

Too bad. Had promise, even more if they would have killed off that ugly daughter.

I guess we could hold out hope that if Bravo does air it and it does well, that maybe they or another network will pick it up. But I am not optomistic.

'Private Practice' exclusive: 'Swingtown' lothario is Addison's new manJan 15, 2009, 04:55 PM | by Michael Ausiello Categories: Private Practice
I've learned exclusively Swingtown's Josh Hopkins has signed on for five episodes as the latest surgeon with whom our lead MD will play doctor. So what do you think, folks? You psyched about a Hopkins/Walsh pairing? Or is the joke about Addison's bedroom needing a revolving door becoming less
funny? Weigh in below. (Additional reporting by Andy Patrick)

I just Netflix'd the pilot: so what's the consensus?
Did either of the Millers boink either of the Dekkers? They left it way too open, 'ludes aside. What they didn't leave open in the pilot was Roger in the side view mirror. |

I saw this thread bumped and got excited for a second. I guess it's officially never coming back.
