Tugging on the Katrina heartstrings?

Nicks group was much much better than Kellys.
I'd love to show this in class tomorow. It would be fun to talk about. I got rid of my VCRs though |

The format of this show sucks.
I don't know why they couldn't just let it run for, what? A month? And eliminate one choir per week. Then, we'd get to see them make some progress as they get better at singing as a group. Plus, we'd get to hear more songs from each choir. And that brings me to my big WTF gripe. Do you mean to tell me that they are having a show about competing choirs and they're not even having them perform songs that fall into the category of religious/sacred music? I mean for crying out loud, they have a huge, not to mention eclectic source of material to draw from there. But we get Nastasha Whatshername's song and "Freedom." And, I'm not even trying to diss those songs, but, WTF? That said, I guess I preferred Kelly groups' performance to Nick's. But, that ain't saying much. Still, I'm happy for the everyday folk singers who get to have their big moment in the spotlight. And I hope that all of the charities will get some money as a result of this competition. And now Bolton's gang is singing Bon Jovi. I actually like that song. But, WTF? |

Um, Choral heavy metal?

Indeed, it seems Bolton's choir will be Living On A Prayer.
I wonder how much the "Silver Fox" limits what the choir can do on stage. Having a 77 year old sing is one thing; having a 77 year old dance is quite another. Is Patti illin'? "Who you callin' boy" might have been an appropriate response. |

Have to give big ups to my home area New Haven choir. But there is a reason why Bolton changed his real last name . He puts the blow in Bolotin.
eta: SLD..she may be old, but most of those fat dudes will be gasping for air ( ie, Cincy pops). |

I thought the big dude on top was gonna fall thru the stage.

Lets hope the next group is better.
I only recognised one of those Oklahoma pictures as OKC, the final city picture was Tulsa. I wonder if they'll mention all the people who can't watch because they have no power. My parents just got their power back yesterday after being out for an entire week. Big dude on top was kinda freaky and yeah, 77 year old grandma can't dance well |

It seemed to me that Michael Bolton's choir focused too much on one singer. The rest were just his backup singers.

Blake's third soloist (the tall guy) was so good, and the energy of Life Is A Highway so upbeat, that it almost
made me forget the first two solos, which were comically bad.

That group was good. I wish it was less solo and more choir for all of these groups though.

I realize the show must go on, but did she have to cut the former Brigidier General off so quickly? Sheesh.

I don't know why Blake didn't have one of the gals solo. I agree that tall dude was pretty good. But, yeah those first two guy soloists crapped up
what could have been a fairly solid performance from this group.
Still, I liked this choir the best so far. I 'spect Patty's gang'll probably pwn everybody. |

I COmpletly agree with meetball.
Nick and Blake were far and away better than Kelly and Michael. So far I have like Michael's he least. But it is true he has less to work with. I mean how many good singers can their be in New Haven. |

I often feel so out of the loop when I watch auditions for shows like AI and this one.
Never mind me wanting them to pick something more along the lines of sacred/religious music.
