i haven't talked to oswald in quite a while. i actually called him several months ago and talked to him but he feels i somehow wronged him. i saw danny over the fourth of july weekend. he came to a party at my house, but we haven't spoken since. i don't have anything against either of them anymore, but during the race i was obviously pissed at them. they were actually one of my favorite teams up until the yield. at one point i even said if we didn't win we hoped it was them. it was good to see danny, and i'm sure we'll hang out again.

nice to see u here. Not to ignore you since I think you deserved your win, but why is romber hatred so intense?

believe it or not romber are actually really nice people. i didn't get to hang out with them that much, but i enjoyed their personalities. i think people don't like them because they feel rob is kind of abrasive, and is constantly in the reality spotlight. it wouldn't be such an issue if they went away, but seeing them everywhere just magnifies the hate, or love, if you like them.

i actually talked to kandace a few days ago. we talk occasionally and i met her fiance in ny. the bqs, in my opinion, were great competitors who were extremely coniving and hid behind smiles to seem innocent. they were viewed as rude because they kind of kept to themselves while others interacted, and didn't really care if they crossed you. i prefer kandace to dustin, as dustin is actually, imo, much sneakier than kandace, but that is all race related. people are generally much different in real life than what is shown on tv.

Have you kept in touch with any of the racers on your original season?

i still talk to most of my original racers. i'm in california right now so i hang with bj quite often, scott is here too, and we went to breakfast the other day. i talk to mojo all the time. i was planning on going to their wedding but couldn't do to personal reasons. i talk to lori and dave, fran and barry, wanda and desi, jimmy john, and joni on an occasional myspace message. i don't have much contact with lake and michelle or ray-yo.

Of all the countries you visited in both your original season and All Stars, which were your most favorite and least favorite countries?

my favorite places were greece in tar9 and prob chile in all stars. every country has some great memories and i really would like to go back to any of them. the only place i really didnt' like was hong kong. it's the same as new york, which i also don't like, except even crazier. j and i still have a trip to take to hong kong so maybe my opinion will change when i visit again.

Of all the tasks you completed in both your original season and All Stars, which were your most favorite and least favorite tasks?

the tasks from tar9 were so much better than as. from breaking bottles to the australian creek bed and skydiving, i had a blast. the worst task was eating all that damn sausage. what you don't know is i ate two sandwiches and an apple on the bus ride to krakow. at this point of the race your stomach has already shrunk, so eating that much food on a full stomach sucked.

This question you may not be able to answer until after Sunday night, but is there a team from this season of the Race that you are rooting for to win?

i looked at their profiles, but i'll have to wait to see the teams in action to pic my favorite.

It's always interesting to hear from racers and get your insight about the race.

we had to find a house in san fran that the gratful dead stayed in using only a picture of the house. i used the cab drivers cell to call dispatch and have them google it. there was also a cliff jumping roadblock in hawaii they cut, but we were all spread out anyways so it had no impact other than personal accomplishment. i do keep in touch with some all stars. i talk to uchenna and joyce quite a bit, teri and ian, kandace, charla, david and mary. david and mary were just in la the other day filming a kodak commercial. we had dinner then went to a bar and played beer pong with bj. david and mary both got a little tipsy and we had a great time. some of the nicest people you could hope to meet. i have some pics on myspace.com/ericsancheztar9
