Here's an audition call for the characters the show is looking to fill.
A lot of it is obviously where the digitalspy article Yorlik posted got it's info from, but this is just more. (Los Angeles, CA) - Send photographs & resumes ASAP to: Details Are only Available By Subscription.. Title: DOLLHOUSE, TV Pilot / TV Series - 1 Hour for FOX. CAST, Eliza Dushku; EXEC PROD, Joss Whedon; PROD, Elizabeth Craft, Sarah Fain; DIR/WRTR, Joss Whedon. Contract: SAG. Shoot Dates: Spring, 2008 (in Los Angeles, CA). Breakdown-- Adelle DeWitt: 40 something, any ethnicity, beautiful, sophisticated, cold as an alp. Runs the Dollhouse with an efficiency that is both ruthless and protective. Would die before she showed anyone how lonely she is. Series Regular; Paul Smith: 30s, any ethnicity, good-looks hardened by a cynical distaste for most of humanity. An FBI field agent, he's been chasing the urban myth of the "Dollhouse" long enough to have lost any shot at promotion. Becomes obsessed with, and twisted romantic foil for, Echo. Series Regular; Boyd Langton: Late 40s-60, any ethnicity, gruff, about to make the descent from 'good-looking' to 'fatherly'. An ex-cop, Boyd is Echo's 'handler' - her guard/bodyguard. Hates himself for taking this job, bu he'd lay down his life to protect the people he feels he's exploiting. Series Regular; Topher Brink: 20's, any ethnicity, genius programmer who's articulate, nerdily attractive and blithely amoral. He's responsible for imprinting the dolls - and making sure they stay unaware of anything. Is fascinated by the science and kind of digging the illegality. Fun to be around, but might not be remotely trustworthy. Series Regular; Sierra: 20's, Asian or any ethnicity - certainly not Caucasian. Strikingly beautiful. A Doll like Echo, she has every personality in the world but her own. Is not as self-aware as Echo, but is instinctively drawn to her as a friend. Series Regular; Victor: 20's, any ethnicity, handsome and fit. A Doll, and the other closest thing to a friend Echo has. Childlike when he's inactive, and everything from Errol Flynn to (young) DeNiro when he's active. Series Regular; November: 20's, any ethnicity, beautiful and heavy. Another Doll, a hopeful child in the house and everyone else you need her to be outside. A comforting, radiant presence, who tends to get fewer of the criminal gigs and more of the personal ones. Recurring; Dr. Claire Saunders: 30-60, attractive, smart and a little sad. Looks after the physical well-being of the dolls. Has an acid wit that she usually reserves for Topher, who may only be kidding about being smitten with her. (Or he may not). Recurring. http://www.myentertainmentworld.com/mew/audition_newlisting.html I'm actually glad Whedon's said he's looking to avoid hiring from his stable of actors. Dude knows how to find good talent. |

Four parts cast!
Say Helo to the FBI guy - Tahmoh Penikett
Also that doofus from "Welcome to the Captain", Fran Kranz - hopefully without the stupid hair.
Some guy named Enver Gjokaj
And, saving the best for last, a stunning actrees from Oz who I assume will be playing Sierra - Dichen Lachman

Fucking Awesome!
Joss has cast Tahmoh Penikett (Helo on Battlestar Galactica) on Dollhouse as Echo's romantic partner. Helo is my favorite BSGer. He is the most human of all the characters on the show. Whedon has tapped Galactica stud Tahmoh Penikett (aka Helo) to play Eliza Dushku's "twisted romantic foil" in Dollhouse, a spokesperson for Twentieth Television confirms. Also joining the Dollhouse ensemble are Fran Kranz (CBS' Welcome to the Captain), Aussie actress Dichen Lachman and relative newcomer Enver Gjokaj. Penikett's character, Paul Smith (originally named Paul Ballard), is described as an FBI agent who becomes obsessed with both the urban myth that is Dollhouse and its most recognizable inhabitant, Echo (Dushku). |

Ooh, Helo is my favorite, too. I was so looking forward to this show, now my interest has doubled. Tahmoh Penikett is so frigging hot... I love Joss even
more, now. Maybe it's time to put my Helo icon back into rotation...

Yay Helo! Thats definitely some exciting casting. Well, I have no idea who the chick and one of the guys are, but Helo will make any show better. Now all we
need is for Six to get a part too and I'll be in BSG heaven.
I'm hoping Charisma Carpenter will get a role, shes such a great actress who can't seem to get a real break. |

I am assuming Enver Gjokaj will be the Topher guy right?
November: 20's, any ethnicity, beautiful and heavy. Another Doll, a hopeful child in the house and everyone else you need her to be outside. A comforting, radiant presence, who tends to get fewer of the criminal gigs and more of the personal ones. Recurring; oh oh oh, what if they cast
Oh plz oh plz oh plz!! |

That picture above of Tahmoh is awful. The guy is sex on legs, so I'm mucho excited he'll be on this show. Good snag, Joss!

Oh please don't say that! Helo is great -- nothing like effing Riley!

Helo is a frakking smoking hot side of beefcake. Riley was a dud.
I want to see this show now. I mean, I was all sorts of excited for Joss Whedon (master of all things wonderful and glorious) to come back to tv and bring Eliza with him. But adding Tahmoh who plays my fave on BSG has amped up that excitement. Screw the fall season. Get this thing on the air now! |

Beefcake wrote: I liked Riley's character... I didn't care for him as Buffy's boyfriend (agreeing with Spike that there wasnt enough monster in Riley to make him a good match for Buffy) but he was a good guy. That's what I like about Helo. He stands his ground on things he believes in and follows his heart (in a manly way). Helo would dig into his own chest to pull a chip off his heart if it meant saving Athena... wouldnt you agree? Anyway, mostly what I'm getting at is that Penikett has that boy scouty vibe going on in BSG and that's why I can picture him in this role in Dollhouse.

<- Tahmoh love! I think BSG misuses Helo a little bit in making him the moral voice of the show, but Tahmoh is able to squeeze enough conflict, etc out of
his character that is makes up for a bit.

angela8675 wrote: I agree. I can totally see him being a dark, badass sort of guy. And based on the bits about the character on Dollhouse I think he is the perfect fit. I
am all sorts of excited to see him get this role.

I can't wait for Fox to completely mis-market this show, air the episodes out of order thereby destroying any narrative arc, and cancel it five episodes
in!
