I have to believe Kirk Acevado (or however you spell his name) knows that. This screams publicity to me- particularly since it was part of the story line.

And to be prepared for what happens to Charlie (sometime in the first few episodes) - I'm guessing he dies, but either returns in memories (a la John) or is replaced by a copy from an alternate universe (a la Peter).
