I really like the big laquered ball. I would like to have one for my living room. Seriously. (A new, clean, one, not a used one from ebay.)

From the preview, it looks like the wrestler Ashley does well. Transcript by SuvivorFever:
"Voice Over: Jeff Probst: Next time on Survivor, at Fei Long, the poker player's bluff is called. Aaron: Jean-Robert, you need to start pulling your weight. Jean-Robert: Why don't we all rest. Jeff: Dave takes command at Zhan Hu. Ashley: You're the leader and I'll let you do what you want. Dave: How many fires have you built, sweetheart? Dave : If she wants a fight I can give her a fight. Jeff: And the pro wrestler comes out in Ashley"It looks like Jean-Robert is in trouble: Jeff Probst from his teleconference:
"Hello, Jean-Robert. You should have watched a couple of episodes, you numbskull."He doesn't last long. |

JR is not in trouble. He's coming up w/plans according to CBS.
"Jean-Robert concocts a plan to purposely act lazy in order to get ahead in the game." It still might not help his game, but he was thinking in that shot, .
For Fantasy players: Jeff was yelling(PBP): Everybody is pulling every body's clothes off! What do you think about the challenge? The ball has to be rolled to certain place and same number tribe mates are intercepting(is that the right word?) or protecting? |

That sounds about right Chyn. The ball seems to come down the shoot and the object would be to take it somewhere or prevent it from going somewhere.
This looks like a Zhan Hu score.
It also looks like more than one ball is in play at one time.
TDT is speculating that Zhan Hu might win this, per the happy faces below. The WEB CLUE says Leslie feel vulnerable then blessed (a Gift from God) - she could be kidnapped and get an HI hint. Happy face shots:

Our poker player is a gambler by definition, so it is likely that he would choose a high risk strategy. Why? Because it could potentially take him all the way
(the higher the risk the greater the potential payoff). Mais par contre, if it doesn't...his ass is grass and probably sooner rather than later.

Jeff has three levers in front of him. It looks like each lever releases a ball on each side, IMO. In the second picture posted by croc (#1), you can see water
(?) being pushed ahead of the first ball on each side. Jeff has just moved that lever forward, as it is in a different position from the other 2 levers.
So 2 balls at a time...do you all try to get one ball to your side, or run "defense" on the other ball as well? ETA: Is it just my eyes or the "colour-matic" at work that some balls appear to be red inside with yellow gid, and others yellow inside with red grid? And if this IS true, does it even matter?

I think you are seeing the colors correctly, kittee

Maybe each round (pair of balls) goes until someone scores? So with three players, you have a choice of concentrating your resources on defending against the
other score, or on scoring yourself (like pulling the goalie in hockey).
It seems like there ought to be something in the set up so that you were wrestling with someone vaguely your own size, like the wrestling challenge in Cook Islands being divided by gender, but we saw things like the sumo pushing and the mud lacrosse challenges in Fiji where they let everyone fend for themselves as best they could. Is the ball going to be hard to roll? Like, do those compartments make it act like a little whop-sided paddle wheel? Is it heavy? (Can you pick it up and run with it, or throw it?)

^^^^^ Check out Dave and Frosti on the right (and two of their other members- Looks like they are pretty happy as they root from the sidelines. Things must be going well for them in this challenge! |

I think they look happy at this point because Erik (?) is clearly gaining ground on Amanda, IMHO.You can see the splash of mud of Erik's footstep as
he's pushing forward with momentum, and Amanda's foot in the air as she's retreating. It also looks like the same group of players who are at the
end with the ball in the yellow zone in croc's pic in post #6.
That being said, the happy, mud-splashed figures of Dave and Frosti do seem to indicate a win for the Tiger team, if those vid-caps are indeed from this challenge (my gut says they are). |

There are a lot of mud-splattered images in the Opening Credits. A LOT. Mean anything?
But a preponderance of them seem to come from this Ep.2 challenge. |

kinda similar to Judd's intro, with that bit of mudd on his nose wailing his arms in victory

The smiles mean maybe that they won their respective heats ... this doesn't necessarily mean they won the challenge.
However,
Jamie consolingly wipes visibly pissed Erik's forehead sort of indicates he lost.

What is Amanda touching. Could it be part of the reward? Looks like spools ... maybe fishing wire?

So to summarize what is going on in this challenge.
It seems to me there are 5 people in the mud, possibly 6. There are four people standing on the platform, and those are from the tribe that voted off Chicken. So there should be three from each team in the mud each time. The balls are two different colors, so most likely the goal is to get your tribe's color to a certain spot while attempting to stop the other team from moving their ball. The team can use their three people any way they choose (stopping the other team or moving their own ball). The balls come down the chute, and apparently they have to go up and over a wooden wall. Anything I'm missing? |

It does look like twine. Fishing gear IS a strong possibility, we know they usually give them some about this time at RC.
MY question is, what is that thing IN FRONT of the twine that looks like it's carved like a dragon? CBS fiddling with the pictures or the HII?

Here's a picture of the same dragon carving. It's in the far left of this picture, next to the stone, to the left of the guy in the jeans and grren
shirt. Hmmmm...no wrestler in sight ;)
