Nice cast (good to see Arkin in something good again) and I like the way parts of it are filmed in a documentary/reality style.
My only nits for picking is that the premise of the main character willingly stepping back into (let alone legally being able to) his old job as a detective after 12 years in prison seems pretty shaky. His partner's drug addiction problem seems a little shoehorned also (not to mention she is way too hot to be so troubled).
But the cast is very likable and they gave it just enough of a twist to not make it seem like a L&O/CSI clone. I'll give it a few more eps.
