Nice cast (good to see Arkin in something good again) and I like the way parts of it are filmed in a documentary/reality style. My only nits for picking is that the premise of the main character willingly stepping back into (let alone legally being able to) his old job as a detective after 12 years in prison seems pretty shaky. His partner's drug addiction problem seems a little shoehorned also (not to mention she is way too hot to be so troubled). But the cast is very likable and they gave it just enough of a twist to not make it seem like a L&O/CSI clone. I'll give it a few more eps.

I thought it was obvious from the final scene of the pilot that he's planning on an exposing the conspiracy that got him sent to jail in the first place and being a detective is a means to that end. I thought it was a good parallel to his supervisor trying to find a way to fire him.

But at the same time I would think that they would put so many clauses and conditions within his settlement with the state that it would make it impossible for him to go back to his old job. I mean, imagine if he were injured on the job, wouldn't that open the department up for even more settlement money, and wouldn't the higher-up "conspiracy" runners want to wash their hands of him completely and not give him easy access to such sensitive documents?

I don't know how many viewers that translates into exactly. Probably in the 9-10 million range (by comparison, Kidnapped was getting about 5 million viewers in that timeslot). pifeedback is the best place to find ratings information. They seem to get the overnight numbers faster than anyone else.

I like that the show is mainly focused on Charlie and his life rather than the crime of the episode, but it does take away from the building of the guest characters who could be fleshed out a little more. I also like how they're making Charlie a sort of rockstar in town as an consequence of his story being splashed across the papers and the news. There doesn't seem to be anyone who doesn't know who he is.

I like the humor and I think they should pump up the "Moonlighting"-ish tension between the two leads. And I sure hope that Arkin bagged those two groupies.

It's the best of the bunch (Chuck, Bionic Woman, Journeyman). I hope it becomes a surprise hit like CSI. The male lead is superb. I'll be watching as long as it survives. But it is very similar to Burn Notice, except it is much more a straight procedural.

After the L Word, I can't see her with anyone else but a woman. The only thing that is keeping me watching this show is the high caliber actors, but I tend to lose interest in the story. I actually left the room before the 2nd episode was done so I don't know who killed the bride.
