I've started watching this. It seems... good. I guess it'll fill the void that was left when I finished all the Star Trek episodes.

Yeah, it's really good. Much better than Star Trek IMO. You need to start watching it in order, though, or you might get lost.

One of the best SF shows ever. Obviously better then Trek. Five seasons of long-form storytelling greatness but it really reached its peak in the third and
fourth seasons. Amazing performances by actors who brought their characters to life and did justice to the great writing by JMS.

I was actually quite pleasantly surprised at this show. My boyfriend at the time watched it, and told me it was kind of like Star Trek, so I had no interest.
But then I caught a couple episodes and got hooked. Is this out on DVD?

The pilot movie introduces all the characters properly but you probably won't get lost if you start from the second episode onwards. One important plot
point is the assasination attempt on Kosh in the pilot. Lyta Alexander is a psi-cop who tapped into his mind. She doesn't show up in the regular series but
is mentioned that she was recalled back to Earth. She shows up again in season 2 and becomes a regular from season 3 onwards.

Cindi - You HAVE to watch this show. It has an awesome storyline. It's so well-written. I wasn't that big of a sci-fi fan but I absolutely loved

I actually didn't watch the whole episode. I saw the beginning and had to know if the kid would survive and decided to stop watching when I found out he

It was excellent series until the series creator sold out during the last (5th) season. Even so, it was worth it.
One of the worst things about the 5th season is when they fired that terrific actress (Claudia Christian) and replaced her the last season. I remember the guy who created got some deals about spin offs and such at the 5th season - he started switching things around too much. |

She wasn't fired. She thought the show was done and didn't renew her contract. It was too late by the time it was renewed.

Yeah right. Some actors aren't even hired on to a series until after it starts production. If they wanted her there, she would have been there.
They deliberately left her out of the final season. From stuff I read, she didn't have a very good working relationship with the head guy. I think if you have some one that good and one season to go, you just deal with it. Obviously, they put their egos in front of making a good TV show. The last season was a big let down. Even so, if someone has never seen this show, they should still go ahead and watch it. The first four seasons were really great. The fifth, no so good, but at least it kinda, sorta brought things to a close. Tracy Scroggins was god awful. |

I wish I had this on DVD. It's hard to watch a new series when you have to let the episodes load and then watch them.
At least with DS9, I had already seen Voyager and I got to see 12 episodes in a row. I have been watching B5 episodes on and off and I'm at episode 16 and I'm iffy. But it'll be the season finale that'll really decide it.
