I've taken medical bacteriology, virology, microbiology, as well as, other sciences in college. I hold a degree and have worked in these fields as well as histology/cytology/pathology. I have have worked extensively with diagnosing ALL STD's including even syphilis, trichamonas, chlamydia, herpes, bacterial vaginosis and YEAST infections. I have worked extensively in mycology (that is the study of molds/yeast) and no where is there information that yeast causes genital or anyother types of warts.

I think I know what is what.

The reason I am so passionate about this is that I don't want some innocent person to think that if they have a vaginal yeast infection that they automatically think they have or will have genital warts from said yeast infection. Genital warts is caused by the human papilloma virus organism...period.

ETA: But everyone is entitled to their own OPINION/Thoughts...that is what makes Sucks fun...right?

I didn't say that Yeast infections cause genital warts. I said a yeast infection left untreated will cause genital warts.

But, a friend of mine told me her gynocologist diagnosed her with warts when she was a teenager and a virgin. She had a yeast infection and didn't know what it was and left it untreated and warts developed. The doctor used some type of toxic medicine to treat them and she had to go back for a two more treatments. The medicine was very painful, she said, and she said she had to sit in a warm bath to ease the pain between treatments. Of course the yeast infection was treated and cured and the warts were cured without any further treatment. She is my age, so this was back in the 70's. I believed her and always thought that genital warts could be caused by this. Maybe she wasn't a virgin and she lied to me or maybe her doctor lied to her. I don't know. But, thanks for the information.

As a result of her story, I was always obsessive about getting my yeast infections treated and under control, because I never wanted warts.

There are cases where the mother can transmit a STD to an unborn child. Prenatal profiles are done to check for certain diseases so they can either be cured (ie. chlamydia, Group B streptococcus...etc) or watch for out breaks prior to birth (herpes-in which case they may do a C-section).

However, I have heard of a case where a young female child had been diagnosed with warts in a certain area and it was confirmed that the mother may had been an asymtomatic carrier. This could be the case with your friend.

There is a possibility that infections of certain areas result in an irritation, or small breaks in the skin, therefore makes it easier to contract other infections...especially those of the viral type (HPV, HIV and herpes).
