The main character is a police inspector (Harry Clayton) who has been given a magic bracelet. It can't be removed unless he's dead, and it gives him the power of luck at the cost of bad luck to his loved ones. It sounds like a cheesy setup, but the procedural elements are done well, the acting is on point and they manage to put him in situations where it's not obvious if his powers can pull him through.
The season one "big bad" was a mystery until close to the end of the season, so I won't spoil it by saying who it was. But what I will say is that big bad wasn't nearly as good as this season's "big bad", Isabella. She also has a bracelet, which sets her up as an immediate match for Harry, and her backstory makes her a lot more nuanced than the person in season one. It was tonight's further reveals on her background and state of mind (episode seven of ten in the season) that prompted me to make the thread, since it was so well done.
Is anyone else watching? In Canada it's on Space, and in Britain it's on Sky 1.
