AMANDA KIMMEL WATCHDOG REPORT
Episode One- "A Chicken's a Little Bit Smarter"
Amanda was first introduced to us first as the "former Miss Montana". Although she didn't receive much airtime in episode one, she had some vital moments, in my opinion. She had a confessional before the first commercial, which is considered to be very important usually. Her confessional commented on the strength of her tribe and thus was a slightly positive moment for her. "I'm so happy to be a Fei Long member, I think James and Aaron are definitely two of our strongest members, so I think we're going to be a power-house in the challenges." Clearly, she was the voice of Fei Long at this point, and therefore it was an important moment.
Though she doesn't have any more confessionals, she still has some crucial moments around camp. There was some fluff involved, her comment to Todd about him being "cute" and was associated as one of the people Courtney was irritated by. The most telling moment for Amanda this episode was when, after hearing the tree mail, recommending for the tribe to read the "Art of War". When Aaron reads "the commander stands for the general's wisdom, sincerity, benevolence, courage and strictness" Amanda is shown. Maybe I'm digging too deep, but it may have been suggesting that Amanda is the commander and Aaron is the general, perhaps.
Clearly she's UTR, you could make an argument for MOR, but she simply didn't get enough airtime. Feel free to give her a 1, but she was more prominent than Denise, Erik and Jaime.
Although many think she should be eliminated because she didn't have much airtime, she had a few prominent moments and a confessional before the first commercial. I haven't given up on Amanda yet. We shall see where her edit goes, but I will note that her edit was similar to Danni's, in my opinion, because I think they both commented on the strength of their tribe and were somewhat hidden throughout the episode. Who really knows though.
