Survivor got it's highest premeire rating since VANUATU! Talk about bringing it back up! Maybe Survivor'll be around a while longer?
It did? I read that it was ~15.15 million or something, which would be the lowest-rated premiere ever.
Winner-wise, I'm not really getting the Todd hype to be honest. Yeah, he was built up to be clever, but he started panicking about that perception. Aaron and James seem like the biggest possibilities so far, but in James's case, I must remind everyone that I was convinced that Brandon was winning Guatemala until he got the boot, and personality-wise, James and Brandon have a lot in common.
What I'm leaning towards at the moment (not submitting ratings just yet):
FEI LONG
Aaron - MOR3. He wasn't quite as subtle about leading as he wanted to be, but it wasn't a stand-out edit by any means. I'm curious as to why they emphasized his being the leader because James was the one who took control in the challenge. My guess is that it was done to contrast with Zhan Hu and show that Fei Long has their act together and elected a leader.
Amanda - UTR1.
Courtney - MORN2. I think this one's pretty obvious. But oh man, a cute blonde who's sarcastic, snarky, and witty? Bless you SEG, for finally casting another Kelly Goldsmith!
Denise - UTR1. Could be P, I don't really think so though.
James - CPP3. A pretty telling scene that didn't have to be included by any means.
Jean-Robert - CPN3. He came across as an arrogant jerk, and he isn't showcasing his abilities to read people well when he doubts that Todd's a flight attendant.
Leslie - MORM3. Leaving the temple could be interpreted either way, but her talk with James leaned towards P.
Todd - MOR3. As I said earlier, I don't get the winner vibes (or even the distraction vibes) that a lot of people have mentioned. He was merely a narrator who got a strange scene that I think is solely foreshadowing for an alliance and/or one of him and Jean-Robert being behind the other's boot.
ZHAN HU
Ashley - MOR4. Merely a decoy boot and had some self-promoting "I'm a wrestler" crap too.
Chicken - OTTN4. It's weird, I think we were supposed to agree with him that he deserved to stay, but we were also annoyed by his refusal to give out opinions and not even try to fit in.
Dave - MOR3. He farted and then disappeared until right before TC. Telling Ashley she's safe and then saying she might be the first boot in a confessional right after isn't complex; we've seen stuff like that a million times before. The preview next week makes it appear that he might be more of the character that Probst promised us.
Erik - UTR1.
Frosti - MOR2. Mostly hyping himself up for the challenge.
Peih-Gee - CPM4. Actually came across pretty positive and sensible for the first half and then quickly became annoying.
Sherea - UTR2.
JAIME WATCHDOG REPORT
Jaime showcasing her, err, popularity
Unlike a lot of you, I don't feel she was INV. The "I don't have a bra!" comment was quick, but it was a funny scene thanks to Probst's remark, and I think most viewers would probably remember that. Of course, I think they're less likely to call her Jaime instead of "That chick without a bra" but she made an impact, minor as it may be. UTR1
