Whhhhhhat is this mess?

The CW has officially announced that their latest drama, "The L.A. Complex," will premiere on Tuesday, April 24, at 9 p.m. EST. We've been psyched about this one for a while, because "The LA Complex" hails from the creators of one of our favorite teen dramas, "Degrassi."

The six-part series features "Degrassi" star Cassie Steele as well as "Firefly's" Jewel Staite. It follows six twenty-somethings from various towns, who move to the same apartment complex in Los Angeles as they "strive for stardom."

It may seem like a soapy, light-hearted concept, but fans can expect the series to explore issues like sexuality, drugs, and self harm.

Airing on Tuesday nights, the series will take over "Ringer's" slot after it ends its first season on April 17.

a Hip-Hop artists with a secret? how intriguing. even the wording of the description is poorly written.

It's good to see The CW cash in on their proven winning formula of rich youth in Los Angeles.

They can add this to their already vibrant lineup along side the smash hits, The Beautiful Life, Melrose Place, Privileged, Easy Money, Valentine, and Hidden Palms!!!

Mr. Seaver and Miss Clooney have joined, significantly upping the randomness of this show.

The Los Angeles-set Canadian soap "The L.A. Complex" just got even more Canadian: Alan Thicke is joining the cast for a four-episode arc during the latter half of its debut season.

The first six episodes of the ultra-dramatic show (think "Melrose Place" and all its steamy, pulpy goodness) debuted to great reviews in its home country, and will air in the U.S. on The CW beginning April 24. The show was so successful that MuchMusic, its Canadian home, ordered 13 additional episodes for Season 1.

Thicke's role is secretive, says The Hollywood Reporter, and the only thing we know about his character is that he'll be named Donald.

One Billie Reed�from Days of Our Lives, Lisa Rinna, may have staged a PR stunt to try and get on The CW's Melrose Place reboot a few years back, but another�has actually�been cast in one. Well, sorta! Deadline is reporting Krista Allen (Billie 2.0) has booked a recurring gig on The CW's upcoming�Melrose-esque soap The LA Complex. Allen will reportedly�play�A-list movie star Jennifer Blake on the Canadian import. The LA Complex is�about a group of sexy, twentysomethings trying to make it in Hollyweird, who all live and love in the same apartment complex. Watch a promo for the series after the jump!

This had more promotion than any CW show I've ever seen and it premiered to a 0.3 and 600,000 viewers.

I really feel bad for the CW at this point.

The CW’s new midseason effort, the imported sexy soap The L.A. Complex, set a new benchmark Tuesday night: According to network research analysts, The L.A. Complex is the lowest-rated in-season broadcast drama debut on record (tracking back to the start of the current ratings measurement system).

Despite relatively upbeat reviews, Complex opened to only 646,000 viewers and a 0.3 rating in the adult demo. By comparison, Ringer averaged 40 percent higher in the 9 p.m. slot. Yes, L.A. Complex numbers actually made Ringer look good. Complex also shed half its 90210 (1.2 million, 0.6) lead in.

I turned it off within about 5 minutes. It seemed more Degrassi meets Melrose Place or some shit....and I hate the cheeseballness that is Degrasi.

'L.A. Complex' repeat draws more viewers than its premiere

The strange ratings odyssey of The CW’s Canadian import The L.A. Complex continued Wednesday night. The network’s repeat airing of the show’s premiere (which was, you’ll recall, the Lowest Rated Broadcast Drama Series Debut of All Time) delivered 721,000 viewers and a 0.3 adult demo rating. That’s slightly more viewers than its Tuesday premiere and tying its debut in the demo.

So, yes, The L.A. Complex premiere audience was so small — “How small was it?” — that it was topped by a repeat of itself. Can’t help but wonder if the dramatic Complex headlines yesterday might have actually helped the show, which many EW.com readers say they didn’t realize was on until seeing our ratings story. Hopefully the additional sampling will help boost next week’s second Complex episode.

OMG - this show is awesome. It is VERY Degrassi but that's why it is so great. I tuned into the first eppie because I saw Mannie on the premiere promos. I'm always willing to tune into a show to see what Degrassi alums are up to but I'm still watching three eppies in. It's so much fun. Jewel Staite is great. I loved her in Firefly, hated her in Stargate Atlantis, now glad to see her in part worth liking again.

I hope if they cancel it that there will be some way for the US folks to still catch this show. It is Canadian TV at its best!! (They can't even say Snapps like the rest of us. Ha!!) I'm loving how the CW isn't even bothering edit it, they just blur out anything that isn't USA acceptable. LOL

Yeah, what I read is that the second season is already green lit in Canada - it's just a matter if the CW wants to pay to broadcast it in the US. I guess not. Canada has always had some really great TV, I just need to figure out how to see it now that I have u-verse. Hmmmm...
