Posts: 2534 04/13/12 04:02 AM Reply Quote More Recent Posts	When I saw the bottom three, I immediately realized none of them have anything to do with 13-14 year old girls who are the main voters for this show. On the one side, we had the WGWG's - Colton and Philip - who the little ones all have a crush ... and the little cute blond girl they all want to be, Hollie. (And Skylar, who gets the substantial country AI votes) On the other side, we have the black guy who sings R&B Joshua, the jazzy "older" contestant Elise, and our Asian-Latino princess Jessica Sanchez. There's no fix on. Its as simple that the little girl voters have nothing in common with those contestants (which is why Phillip and Colton are destined, sadly, to be final two, cause they're cuuute).

The outcome of last night's bottom 3, with the exception of Joshua did not surprise me all that much! The nice side of me wants to and did feel badly for Jessica - she appears to be a sweet little girl who can belt out a song. Elise - well, I like her but the voters , most voters do not like her age or her attitude (I happen to love her attitude) Joshua - he is ott but I enjoy him but he is not the singer people who vote want to win. The told you so side of me saw this coming at the beginning of the show when they saved Phillip's clip till last and JI said PP would be in the bottom 3 and the slow but steady de pimping of Phillip & Colton The cynical side of me wanted to LOL at the whole indignant and shocked faces of the judges and Randy proclaiming Jessica is one of the best singers anywhere. Don't they realize they are just making it harder for her and people will like her less thru no fault of her own Th really annoyed side f me just hates the way Seacrest divides them into groups = get a new act! Too bad that Heejun already claimed P2. - The contestants looking bored during and after Durbin's performance. Contrast that to how excited Skylar was when Pickles performed last week. Rigged or not, the suspense and surprise was ruined when Steven said they were going to use the save as soon as the B3 was announced. It would've been hilarious if Hollie was in the B3 and Steven still said that, although there's no doubt they would've changed their tune. Most shocking B3 ever? You'd think on a night with JHud performing, they'd remember that the three divas being in the B3 was far more shocking.

It's too bad because I really think Joshua deserves a shot at the title. His music style is not my favorite, but damn if I don't love most of his performances. There's something to be said for consistency. (Although not by the AI voting public, heh.)

Not digging into every example in history but they could have had far more desirable winners than Taylor Hicks, Kris Allen and Lee DeWyze, and stopped the massive vagicide among other things if they were going to outright rig it. Also I've said it before, they have no reason to rig it. Its a television show and the point is to get ratings and make money. In the end what would be the point of rigging it? It wouldn't make it more beneficial to them. Reiterating what I said in the spoiler thread in regards to a "it was rigged" conspiracy theorist... Not really sure why anyone finds it hard to believe that Jessica and Elise were actually the bottom 2. Jessica is a bore whore diva singer, she makes poor song choices and doesn't even have a likable personality. In fact I'd be willing to bet she actually turned people off this week in the video package she had with Joshua and Hollie, she came off as borderline bitchy and just not friendly. AI voters have historically gotten bored of these bitches and voted them off, most recently they did to Pia last season but there was no save left for her. People say oh how could Hollie not be in the bottom 3? Again this is the AI voters we are talking about, best vocal talent hasn't been their top priority for years. Hollie is cute and very likable, she's endearing and its easy to see how people would want to vote for her, especially after her videos this week. There was much more motivation to vote for Hollie than there was for Jessica this week and I'm not surprised it went down the way it did. Not to mention there's only 7th people left, she could have easily been and probably was the 4th lowest vote getter, this just also makes her the 4th highest vote getter. She didn't necessarily have that much more votes than Elise and Jessica, just enough to keep her off the seal for once. There was nothing about this "elimination" that was absurd or unprecedented so I'm not sure what all the "RIGGED!111" is about. I guess there will just always be people who really believe they would waste the time and take the risk of outright rigging this show. They don't even have to.

They can get almost anything they want with the heavy manipulation they already do, hell they even added the save so they could pull shit like last night and save any of their TCOs if ever in danger. Their chosen contestants almost always make the Top 4 and at that point, or even earlier they can have Interscope offer the non-winners a record deal. They don't need the favourites to win, just stick around long enough so that their incessant ass licking seems warranted.

Jessica scoffed at Hollie and Joshua and called them weird but she might want to change her tune and get some lessons from the little pixie albino on being likable. Besides the fact that Hollie actually does have a beautiful voice there's a reason Hollie is still around, she's super likable. People like puppies, candy, rainbows, glitter, smiles and ice cream and Hollie is all of those things. AI voters hate women but the women they hate the most are the ones they perceive as cold and unlikable, with bad attitudes. That's how people feel about Elise and after this week I wouldn't be surprised if that's how some people are starting to feel about Jessica.

I'm thinking Skylar has a shot of sneeking into the top 3 and maybe even the finale.

I mentioned this the other night but Hollie is one of the few young performers on the show who doesn't have stage parents. That's a double edged sword I guess. It makes her more likeable and less annoying, but now she doesn't have the experience of someone like Jessica who was a stage kid and has had years of performing experience under her belt. If Hollie had waited maybe another year or 2 and actually devoted that time to working on her performance skills, she'd be a slayer no problem. She has an absolutely gorgeous voice and she's just so damn likeable. I mean I want to mail her puppies and glitter. Skylar has a good power combo going. She's a Country singer and a hick which will appeal to a large portion of the voters, she has a likable personality, she has a good voice and pulls off most of her performances AND to top it all off she has the judges on her side. I think what will help Skylar a lot though is that she's not the #1 TCO. They like her enough to praise her and tell America how great she is, but they're not over pimping her or shoving her down people's throats. While they're busy turning people against Jessica with their bullshit, more and more people will warm up to Skylar. I definitely think she's Top 4 bound with Px2 and Colton. It just remains to be seen whether Joshua or another girl will join them.
