Unfortunately, it really did seem a bit disjointed and didn't have the collection look. That being said, he really is a joy to watch. Gracious, classy, sophisticated, and a truly likeable guy. I don't really even dislike Michael, just his OTT false modesty, self-deprication and over-reactions. Plus he seems a bit shadey at times. I really like many of his designs and 3rd place is just about right for him. And since Mondo's win was so evidently pre-ordained, nothing that I stated after Exactly! means anything!!

As for Austin having the wedding dress as part of his collection, it used to be that every collection had a wedding dress. I think Austin is a throw back to the old days of glamour and did it because of that. I loved that wedding dress, it was beautiful.

Except that 1) that wasn't even a true collection, 2) a line of 20 black dresses that look the same could also be considered 'cohesive', 3) there were only two or three stand-out garments and at least three true clunkers. Austin's concept was silly, but most of his individual pieces stand head and shoulders above Mondo's. His execution is simply more polished. Unfortunately, that does not fit the narrative. Mondo was the winner of Project Runway All Stars from the moment it was conceived. In fact, was it not announced following the completion of his season and his loss to Gretchen? I think producers thought we wanted to see Mondo win something. Unfortunately, he went into a black hole and become quite unlikeable. His win seems forced and a rather bitter victory.

He made a face like, ummm....hmmmm...I'll sit here quietly... He was keeping it classy instead of following the lead of Mexitoad. I am glad we got to see Austin again and it also gave Kenley a redemption, but the Mondo circle jerk definitely leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Is that supposed to make it interesting? Yea, the second look with the poof (which I don't hate) had some construction issues. I didn't notice it on the runway, but when Austin was getting his final critiques, you could see the sleeve in the frame and it was not cut or finished well. I'd get a screencap if I cared. Nonetheless, I still think his was the best. I actually don't mind him losing because of construction, BUT I do mind him losing because of construction if the judges don't mention it. Add me to the team that preferred Mondo's season 8 collection to this one. The skull shit was fresh and exciting and on-trend and ugly-fab. The therapy stuff was just good but not deep.
