Yeah, that's pretty bad, and I'm one that strongly supported that Colton's fight with Bill was a rich/poor conflict and had nothing to do with race.

Though it's true that the South is pretty terrible with racism. I'm from Georgia, and I've heard a lot worse, such as "He worked him like a n***er" and "Those Japanese are smarter than real people."
