As for the direction of the election, I see Romney locking up the republican nomination. He already has more than twice the delegates of any competitor and way more money and organization. And the general election could shift somewhat dramatically in either direction. I can see Obama winning by a 10 percent differential or Romney winning by a 5 percent differential or something in between. In 2008, Obama won the national election with a 7 percent differential over McCain, considered a landslide as far as modern races go. Who wins will largely hinge on how these campaigns are run. Who is better at the accumulation of financial resources and mobilizing those resources to present a focused message to get people to the polls.
