It might help them win this year but it would leave them cap fucked and unable to sign any of their good young players who are coming up for deals. Plus I doubt his fat ass is anywhere near Tortorella shape. If they can get Dustin Brown though it would be a very good fit plus he has a reasonable cap hit.

Posts: 12759 02/24/12 12:41 PM Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts	I knew you'd be against trading any of the kids. cant blame ya for feeling that way. my gut tells me Sather will not trade for Nash and I'll understand why. however, I'll be pissed if they get bounced in the 2nd rd by the Pens for example b/c they went into another one of their scoring droughts. no Nash means you're putting a lot of pressure on Henry.

Posts: 12759 02/25/12 01:19 PM Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts	Kreider is going to be a beast so Sather better not include him in any deal. didnt have high expectations for the Rangers this year either but Henry cant play forever. he made a comment about how the clock was ticking which tells me hes starving to win a cup. when his career is over, I dont want ppl to say "yeah he was a great goalie......but he never won a cup" you never know what can happen year to year. this might be his best opportunity to win one.

Even if they WERE going to trade a defenseman they sure as hell wouldn't also trade their #1 defensive prospect who you would have to assume would need to come up and replace him.

O'Reilly is SO underrated, the guy does everything, and I'm hoping that Landy gets ROTY, because like O'Reilly, this kid does everything.

In the pre-cap world, he likely would have been dealt - now, a $7.8M salary is not taken on lightly (unless your the Rangers and, if things turn out badly, he could join Wade Redden in Hartford).

My first reaction was pretty negative, but upon further reading, I think I'm ok w/ the trade. (+ Hodgson may have been requesting one). Now he can join Christian Ehrhoff in Boofalo and lament watching another (hopefully slightly more successful) Canuck playoff run. GO 'NUCKS!
