That was a great finale episode, but painful.  When Sophie said that showing emotions was weak, I wanted to cry.  (Birdlady has pointed to her S'ness all along.)  It is so disheartening to see. I'm glad she said she was now trying to be more like Dawn.  But, whoa, what a conclusion to come to in life.  (Perhaps we all really will be morphing into computers any day now--the singularity is in 2014?) I did not feel she played the game the best, or at least we were not shown that, so was disappointed, but after last week's ep, I felt pretty sure F had little chance, given the jury.  I thought Ozzy would make it back, though; it seemed it was going to be a 'S besting F with mutual respect' thematic replay of S3, Lex and Ethan.  It seemed to me Albert would have next to no chance, after last week, and I figured Sophie would only have a chance if Ozzy was not in the F2/F3.  Coach's fatal decision was the one to boot Rick, and I'm sure we all cringed at that moment... we all know... sing it, my friends... THE E NEVER WINS!!!

Someday, maybe Jeff will ask the question: how would you each have voted had you seen the show before voting?  Well, I hope Brandon and Coach stay in touch.  Brandon seems to really need some positive father energy in his life.  Holy moly, so to speak... You can pick your enemies, but not your family... Yikes!

Phoenix, thanks for keeping up with the single parent seasons...  I believe we are going to need a lot more of that, because it really looks like society has changed so much in that regard over the past decade--that people in their late 20s and beyond were raised by one parent, most likely the mom, and might thereby long to have a "stronger" mom or a more present dad.  Any survivor coming in willing to fill that role without allying with their opposite F or M seems to be doing well these days.

This "one world" thing seems odd.  It, too, kind of reminds me of S3--weren't they in one big huge circular enclosure, on opposite sides, to keep out the lions?   Hm.  Not sure about that. I do remember they had different and awful water sources.  The problem I see with it, potentially, is a young vs. old scenario evolving, with secret or even overt alliances being made across tribes, with the strong physical players dominating early and throughout the game.  That means the weaker tribe will have stronger family bonds; but I guess we will see.
