Wezzie is right on with the Woody Allen comparison. Been thinking that since the first episode. I think Cockroach is intelligent, and obviously a fan/student of the game. He's probably been dreaming of being on the show for years, and talking with friends and family about that big Survivor adventure to come for him someday. Shoot, he's probably lurked around on this board, and knows the story of the fox, the bear, the bunny and the goat. I'm sure he's been reminded by friends for years that he would have almost no chances in any challenges which have any degree of physicality. He might have some proficiency at puzzles, but we haven't seen that. And judging by his character that I've seen, he's a nerd, he's smart, he's not strong or coordinated, and he's not a manipulator. He's probably never been part of the "in crowd" at school. He could be good at observing and sizing up people though.

These are all qualities that he certainly knows about himself, and has been reminded of by his friends and family - over and over and over.

Since he's smart, I assume he came to the realization that he couldn't change himself into a social or physical dynamo, and his only hope would be to play to his strengths - The nerdy, whimpy dork, that loves Survivor, and would do anything to stay in the game, and somehow, get to the end and win. What else could he do? Those immortal words of Chris probably keep ringing in his ears "You don't win Survivor by balancing" (or something to that effect)

He's not playing for a return invite IMHO.

So, playing this way was his only real choice. And he made it. He chose the goat.

Somebody, anybody, take me to the endgame. He's afraid to draw rocks - he's afraid to go to redemption island. Time to jump ship, run for cover and beg for forgiveness. Jim's right, he is a coward. But Cockroach has known that for years, and it's a role he will continue to play. Perfect for his chosen goat role.

But, the others should watch out. If he keeps this goat role working and developing, and makes it to the finals, he has one thing no other goat ever had. That's the ability to reason, think on his feet, and orally express himself. We've seen him exhibit this spontaneously in a couple tribals already. And this smarmy law student has probably rehearsed his Final Tribal closing argument for years.

I don't see him winning, but it could be a fun final TC if he makes it that far, and if he does pull off a stunner, it will be quite a performance at FTC.
