Is it just me, or from the preview, does Coachran not seem to understand why his tribe is mad at him? Can he really be that socially inept?

Or does he think that they don't get whatever genius plan he was going to explain to Ozzy later?

The classic way to test if a suspected double agent has really flipped is to have them kill someone. Could Cochran think that he has sacrificed Keith and next Whitney (who he didn't really like anyways) in order to establish himself firmly within the blue tribe. Then he, original allies Dawn and Jim, and hero Ozzy can peel away Albert and Sophie?

No chance. Ozzy & Jim are far too much of a immunity threat to stay in the game. If one or the other win immunity , the one that did not win will get voted out. Coach has far too much control over his tribe to let it slip now especially now that cockroach has done his part in screwing over his former tribe.

Usually , the next day after the last TC , they will go to see the redemption island duel so i'm guessing that instead of the duel , it will be a immunity challenge and that night another TC so one day after TC to next immunity challenge , Savaii simply will not have the time to regroup and try to infiltrate/break down the hierarchy of Upolu so it's a fair bet that either Ozzy or Jim will be the next casualty of Cockroach's betrayal.

He's not an idiot. He knows why they're pissed.

Agreed, especially since last episode he warned Coach and company that this was going to happen. He understands and nothing in that preview suggests that he doesn't.

He completely understands why, he's just so insecure that he can't quite own his bold move. He's not sorry he did it, but he doesn't want anyone to be mad at him. Definintely someone who can dish it out, especially in confessionals to the camera, but not take it. Would the Godfather, or whoever he was trying to imitate last week, try to explain his moves to placate someone. Nope.

If he knew that the person he offended with his assassination was going to be sitting on a jury judging his moves in a few days? Yep. I agree he's an insecure little nebbish, but placating (i.e., damage control) is a necessary part of this game. Even the Robfather was not above it.

Are we supposed to believe Ozzy and Benjamin are cooking up some side deal? Other than that, not a lot of fraternizing. Are Whitney and Jim eating up all the goodies before they get booted?

Problem is , Cockroach is flighty and totally untrustworthy. Whoever wants to take him as a goat to the end will have to contend with his numerous insecurities which will lead to him being a unreliable vote because he's all about himself , nobody else. Upolu is better off staying with their own goats because those goats will at least be loyal until they slit their throats.

This.^^^ No hate, just a good, rational description of the Cockroach and how others will view its reliability. Of course, this assumes rationality, rather than emotion on the part of the former Upolo members. Don't expect Brandon to dump the Cockroach, now that he's taken it under his wing. The other Upolo are less likely to feel an emotional attachment to "it". When it comes time to squash the roach, Brandon may not be able to let go of his attachment. Should cause an emotional outburst on his part. I look forward to it.

Edna and Sophie are together a lot in the press photos. I wonder if the idea of a 'girl alliance' has come up yet. I just read James Barber's transcript , and Coach & Albert still believe that they have a three person alliance with Sophie, and that "on the other side" it's Edna, Brandon and Rick. Seems like it won't take long before Edna, Sophie, and Dawn discuss sticking together for the sake of girl power.

Edna seems pretty attached to Benjamin, always within a few feet of him. Either she's really taken in, or she is aware that if he perceives/imagines any hint of "disloyalty", she is toast.

Dawn and Sophie probably could be friends (in an older/younger sort of way) in some other setting. Dawn is warmer and Sophie more analytical, but they're both strong and smart.

I imagine either of them would be fairly influential at Loser Lodge.

Not sure how reliable Mika is but in her exit interview, she said the other girls (Christine, Stacey, Edna) did not like Sophie "at all." I'm not feeling a girls alliance. Soph seems locked in with Al for better or worse and they have Coach as their goat.

Edna does seem attached to Coach and there was that block of Rick-Coach-Brandon that all voted together to vote out Mika. It seems Coach will have to make a decision at some point to vote with Brandon-Edna or go with Soph-Al since he has separate alliances with both.

On Upolo, Dawn might be able to work with Rick though. I know in a confessional or secret scene she was happy to have to him to talk to because they're both Mormon. Objectively, Upolo really should target Dawn right after Ozzy is gone since Dawn is the 2nd best Savaii in challenges but Coach is a sexist idiot and he won't do it.

On another topic, do you think Ozzy/Whitney's idol will be rehidden ? If Coach keeps his in his pocket, it's going to be a slow road to the final jury, idol-wise, if SEG doesn't put another in the game.

Everyone on Upolu knows Coach holds an idol, and word could get out to the former Savaiis.    I could see Jim/Ozzy/Whit and possibly Dawn/Rick strategizing to get it away from Coach although Rick did say in an Insider (thank you , James Barber) that he doesn't want to do anything risky . He said something like people get close to the goal and start smelling the money so they take chances.

I'm finally reading the Insiders this year.   Sorry for all the thoughts.
