It's not clear, but it's the most logical choice considering the spoilers.

I think there are a lot of people who would change their vote. Out of respect for the game and everyone's effort, I really tried hard to make a decision on who would receive my vote. I think a lot of other people didn't do that. I think a lot of other people were disgruntled. Some people were so fed up that they don't even want to talk about the game. I can talk about the game forever. It is entertaining and fun. A lot of people don't have experience making decisions. A lot of people voted for the person they like the most. To answer your question, I would not change who I voted for. I made the correct decision. Sounds to me like he voted for Russell, but very few other people did.

We'll see who's right. edit: I'd like to add that no one anywhere has said anything about Mick winning. Well, don't know if John reads the spoiler boards, but he did say this in an interview: "You can't just float by without making any moves and then convince me that you did stuff." - Sounds like a Russell vote to me. He also mentioned that "A lot of people are bitter and are picking the lesser of two evils." until the extent that he thinks they might want to change their vote after watching the show on TV. So it could be a toss up between Nat/Mick?

I can see where he would have identified with Russell. I can also see him driving others further away from a Russell vote if he advocated for Russ. I wonder if Russell might have been better off taking John to the final three. I think a number of Galu would have voted for him over John, or Mick.

I remembered in Gabon, Bob was practically invisible except for some ridiculous fake idol stuff. I still don't know how in the hell Bob won.

The essence of his game has been to get rid of any player who shows independent thought. (Aside: I recently saw this movie set in a prison. And the badass who's top dog among the convicts makes it very clear to the protagonist, a newbie who allies with him to survive a riot, that he, the badass, will not tolerate any independent decisions from the smart and enterprising noob. That's Russell for you in a nutshell.) Russell sniffed John out immediately as a cold, rational player. So he used him as long as their immediate goals were the same and ditched him as soon as it was convenient. It will be interesting to see how Russell operates in a Survivor 20 environment made up mostly of independent thinkers, or at least of people who think they are.

The essence of his game has been to get rid of any player who shows independent thought. So Russell's foibles are responsible for a season where Natalie and Mick are the top Foa, and Brett and Monica are the top Galu, and the editors are pissed. Problem is, Russell's strategy selects for people that are nice and easy to get along with. Put that together with Russ having to rely on Natalie to get the Galu girls to vote Erik, and Natalie probably winning the key final IC, and Natalie has a strong case with any jury who considers a range of factors including likeability. Ben, Liz, John, Shambo ... all decent goats that Russell either slaughters or isn't able to shepherd along. Last Edited By: craig 12/05/09 12:04 PM. Edited 1 times.

Hasn't the so-called goat strategy been discredited by now? When was the last time someone managed to win Survivor by favoring a goat over their primary alliance? Jenna over Matthew? But he technically brought her along, and it's not as if he had better goat candidates tham himself. You could argue Brian and Clay, but the thing is, Clay was in fact a known ally of Brian's, even if Brian's other allies didn't realize he had promised F2 to all of them. Anyway, Amazon and Thailand were a long time ago. I can't really think of more recent examples.

Now its just the question of whether they'll vote for Natalie or Mick....They like Natalie more but she did a lot of Russ's legwork.. ETA: JT, um, Jenna won the last 3 or so ICs after her alliance was dismantled. Matthew did not bring her along in any way shape or form.

Just tons of hero males, which is why women have been losers so often. Goat strategy is hindered by a F3. It never pays to rely on somebody flakey like Lillian or Sugar. Rob C had his goat stolen at F3 by Jenna. And Cire intentionally slaughtered the goats in S12 I supposed Ben would have been a Clay-like opponent for Russell, but he was too much of a social disaster to last. But Russ is responsible for choosing Natalie over Liz.
