It's not really clear at this point how Mick wins, but the other two's edit rules them out from winning. Maybe he'll get this explanation in the finale.

ET: Having seen the show now, would you change your vote? John Fincher: I would not change my vote. I think there are a lot of people who would change their vote. Out of respect for the game and everyone's effort, I really tried hard to make a decision on who would receive my vote. I think a lot of other people didn't do that. I think a lot of other people were disgruntled. Some people were so fed up that they don't even want to talk about the game. I can talk about the game forever. It is entertaining and fun. A lot of people don't have experience making decisions. A lot of people voted for the person they like the most. To answer your question, I would not change who I voted for. I made the correct decision.

Maybe he's just saying it so they don't look at him as a threat. Or as someone that "already won a million" kind of thing. According to survivorcuz, Russell does tell people in S20 that "the little blond girl" surprised everybody in S19. Of course nobody here is 100% assuming that Russell is telling the truth, but cuz and SU do both independently say that Russell got zero votes for both seasons, and cuz even said that Colby/Rupert/JT wanted to jump Russell after the show. missyae on other hand would be "surprised" if John/Dave/Shambo did not vote for Russell. We'll see who's right. edit: I'd like to add that no one anywhere has said anything about Mick winning.

I can also see John driving others further away from a Russell vote if he advocated for Russ.

"I wonder if Russell might have been better off taking John to the final three. I think a number of Galu would have voted for him over John, or Mick." It would have never been Russell's strategy to do something like that. The essence of his game has been to get rid of any player who shows independent thought.

Ben, Liz, John, Shambo ... all decent goats that Russell either slaughters or isn't able to shepherd along.
