Excited for a new album! And any artist releasing in the fourth quarter is going to see higher sales. It is just fact. Carrie is releasing 2-3 weeks before the rush begins on black Friday. You can't begrudge any artist for releasing at the time because it is smart marketing.

I wish she was working with someone other than Marc Bright (again?!), but I guess she is comfortable with him by now. For the future, I'd like to see her go with another producer and a different music video director. I feel like she will really step up her game once that happens. I see Carrie is working with different writers on a few of the songs, so I'm looking forward to hearing how those turn out.

Carrie Underwood adds more Gold & Platinum Certifications
As was announced yesterday Carrie Underwood will be releasing her third album on November 3. Today, there is more good news for Carrie, as she received platinum certification for "All-American Girl," and gold certification for "Just a Dream." This makes all five of the singles released from her nearly 3x platinum Carnival Ride having been certified at either gold or platinum.

More Carrie trivia? She is the first country artist in history to receive 10 #1 singles from their first two albums.

Some of you have expressed an interest in data that will give you a better idea of how the American Idols are faring in the music world at large. Since we're about halfway through 2009, I figured this might be a good week to take a look at some of Nielsen SoundScan's year-to-date album sales, which will provide a frame of reference.
Seven Idols have albums among this year's 200 top-selling albums, according to SoundScan (Carrie Underwood has two). Compilations by Chris Botti and David Foster that feature Idol artists also made the Top 200.

Kelly Clarkson's All I Ever Wanted is the year's top-selling Idol album, coming it at #12 overall, so I'll give you the year's 15 top sellers. Then, with the rest of the Idols, I'll provide the two albums above and the two below them on SoundScan's list.

If carrie gets a real good first 6 weeks off of album #3 she will be in the top 10 for 2009 I would guess.

She just needs to do what she did with CR and it's top 5 before the years over.

Unnamed Project Set For November 3rd Release

With 4-GRAMMYs and 10-million albums now in the hands of COUNTRY fans everywhere, Carrie Underwood has completed work on her 3rd album, set for release November 3rd.

Other than a release date, info about the new project is being kept quiet. We do know, however, that Mark Bright, who produced Carnival Ride and her blockbuster, Some Hearts, has been working feverishly putting on the final touches.

Carrie is considered the most-successful of the American Idol alumni--the only one to achieve 10 #1 hits from her first two Albums. All 5-singles from her Carnival Ride album have Digital certified Gold or Platinum.

After winning the title of American Idol in 2005 (Season 4), Carrie Underwood (26) is coming out with her third album this fall. Currently, she is still recording the untitled album with the hit single to be released sometime this summer.

Underwood's debut album 'Some Hearts' and the follow-up, 'Carnival Ride' have sold 10 million copies combined. She was the first Idol to have 10 No. 1 hits includingJesus Take the Wheel and Before He Cheats. Check out her impressive list of country music awards here.

Forbes recently listed her to be the highest earning Idol contestant with an estimated $14 million income during last year only.

Wow - between recording, performing and winning awards I wonder if Carrie fits sleep into her busy schedule.

Underwood headlines 2-day concert for 101st troops

Soldiers based at Fort Campbell will get an unprecedented welcome-home present on Aug. 14, and civilians are invited, too.

Carrie Underwood, John Rich, Rodney Atkins and Jake Owen are among the stars who will play for free during the Army post's Week of the Eagles. The homecoming event is held every other year for soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division "Screaming Eagles" who have returned after overseas deployments. But this is the first time that the event's music has stretched over two days, and the star power outstrips anything in its history.

"People just expect there to be a military, but they don't see faces and they don't know names," Underwood said. "It's very important to just go and raise awareness and bring some cheer to people who might not get it all the time, people who are stuck in another country, away from their family and friends and kids."

Underwood - who in April became the first female performer since 2000 to win the Academy of Country Music Awards entertainer of the year prize - has played for troops before. In 2006, she went on a USO tour of Iraq and Kuwait.

"I'd never performed in front of a gun-toting audience before," said Underwood, laughing. "People were very appreciative; people kept thanking us for being there. All I could say was, 'I get to go home in a week; you don't, so thank you.' "

Normally Fort Campbell staff plans the concerts, but this year, radio broadcasting company Cumulus took over booking and picked up the bill for artist riders and sound equipment. Riders are artists' requests for special accommodations, such as backstage food and beverages.

"This is a huge, huge sponsorship to Fort Campbell," said Melissa Schaffner, marketing director at the post's Morale, Welfare and Recreation department, which plans the Week of the Eagles. "Not only did it save us a lot of time and effort, they had the direct connections to that talent, and it made it really easy for us."

i told you so was her last release and hardly was just released

hell she sang it in march of 2008 at the opry too so she was performing a long time ago. I only remember as randy walked out and surprised her with the induction surprise.

Reguardless it's going to be around 6 months or so since she had something on the radio and 18 months since it's something new.
