Remind me to never align with Lake Like The (uuuum, there are four oceans) Ocean in a game.
I Love New York really is the quintessential VH1 dating show, imo. The second season is even better! |

35. The Amazing Race 2
Wikipedia Reality Blurred Archive The Amazing Race 2 was the second installment of the reality television show, The Amazing Race. It premiered on March 11, 2002 and ended on May 15, 2002.So TAR1 happened, and suddenly there was this amazing new show that brought travel and numerous exotic locales to reality TV. So we managed to get a second season, still with eleven teams of two traveling around the world, this time in different locations, and we got a solid season out of it.

TAR2 is probably the only reality season that I can rewatch and get fully engrossed in every time (TAR3 loses a lot of its impact after the initial appeal of
the great F3 and TAR5's characters are more cartoony)

A Lying Down wrote: My 3 favorite seasons of TAR (1, 3 and 5) are still in this as well as TAR 9 which I hated. But this ranking shows that Mega64 is principally interested in watching shows that have eye candy because 8 seasons of Big Brother are still left as well as Temptation Island coming in frst. |

that have eye candy because 8 seasons of Big Brother are still left as well as Temptation Island coming in frst. But BB has by far the ugliest casts of all the big three shows :/ I mean, they cast unfortunate-looking girls like Jessica and Sharon as eye-candy I completely forgot that Sucks' most underrated season of anything ever, TAR9, is still in the running. |

Blake and Paige were my favorite team ever. And Blake's dating Maggie Grace? She's like one of the hottest people I've ever seen. I'm
jealous.

TAR2 was my first full season I watched. The first Brazil leg was good. The lady holds a clue from a Beach detour was Heloisa Pinheiro as "The Girl From
Ipanema". Tara/Wil should won than Chris/Alex, they close into 40 yards to the finish line point.
Grannies got stuck in London Heathrow Airport and they can not able to booked the flight to Cape Town and it was too late. |

34. Survivor: Micronesia
Wikipedia Reality Blurred Archive So the sixteenth season came around, and since the eight season was All-Stars, rumors started floating around about All-Stars 2 coming around, and it was fueled by certain former cast members being invited back on. What we ended up was Fans vs Favorites, where we got ten former Survivors from the post-ASS era (except for PI's Jonny Fairplay) and ten "super fans" who were supposedly hardcore Survivor fans, except half of them probably didn't even know what Survivor was. Between the strong, ruthless gameplay of the favorites and the pure idiocy and naiveness of the fans, and we had one entertainining season.

Yay, I love Micro! It's in my top 3 survivor seasons <3 Black widow brigade <3 I actually think the half-ass concept worked out well, only thing I didn't like was that a lot of the fans got kinda shafted by the editing. |

Numerous blindsides, some hilariously stupid moves, lots of comedy, and some intense strategy. This is what most seasons of Survivor aspire to be, an epic combination of characters and strategyWhat characters? You mean ignoring more than half of the cast to shove three people down our throats? Yeah, there was some great blindsides, but if you know what happens (upon rewatch) the season completely sucks due to the lack of character development. |

Micronesia is one of the best seasons Survivor has ever had. I loved it. Seeing the black widow brigade dominate was so fun to watch. GREAT season!

I liked most of the cast myself. Mikey B was smart and funny, Chet was fun to laugh at, Joel brought some good drama, Kathy was delightfully crazy, Tracy was
a solid strategist, Jason was fun to watch in his douchiness, Erik was neat to watch in a dorky way, Natalie had some great commentary when she actually got
airtime, and I don't even need to get into the favorites. Honestly, the only duds in this cast were Alexis and Mary and to a lesser extent Yau-Man. Not
the strongest cast, sure, but still a solid variety of characters that were fun to watch, and a lot better than many other seasons.

Thailandsurvivor wrote: Thai, if you really think that Survivor is principally about character development then I suggest that your time would be better spent by either watching sitcoms or dramas or reading novels instead of watching Survivor. Survivor is a game show and the editing is game-centric. The editing is not character-centric as with scripted entertainment. Unfortunately competition shows such as Survivor/TAR/Big Brother do not hold up on rewatch because they are game shows and that is the reason why so few seasons have been released on DVD. Survivor Micronesia is one of my 4 favorite seasons and the Black Widow Brigade is my favorite alliance in the Survivor history. Watching them pawn Ozzy/Jason/Erik/James was entertainment gold. Watching a female alliance dominate a season was a breath of fresh air considering that men have dominated the game since after All Stars (since 8 out of 10 post All Stars seasons have been won by men) |

If Survivor is only game centric, then why was Gabon, Tocantins, and China able to have a decent balance between strategy and the characters? Few people were
ignored, and everyone shined in some light. That's compared to the two fans who were decently edited for their entire stay, Mikey B., Tracy (who went
invisible during episodes 2 and 3), and maybe Kathy (who was shown as a quitter). Chet was allowed to talk only once or twice during the season, and the
editors didn't tell us that he was forced to leave the game just to make him look bad. Erik was invisible until the swap where he was only shown as
Ozzy's lap dog. Jason was an under the radar negative asshole until the final 11 episode where they finally gave him something. Mary who? was only
Mikey's sidekick. Alexis made the final 6, but she was forced to be invisible so fans didn't get mad when she was taken out by the idol. Natalie had
the single worst edit in Survivor history for someone to make the merge, and Joel was negative 100% of the time during the stay.
That's just the fans, not including Yau, Ami, and James three great and entertaining players the first time around who were completely ignored to give Parvati, Cirie, and Ozzy more face time. I'm sorry, but I'm not a huge fan of biased editing to try to force us to root for one side. Reality TV is supposed to show us what is actually going on, and Micronesia, Fiji, Cook Islands, and Palau (ironically the 4 seasons with 19 or 20 people) all obviously hide an entire group's good attributes to make another side look better. the Black Widow Brigade is my favorite alliance in the Survivor historyIt's my 13th favorite, but it has some pretty big flaws which I've already written about in my ranking thread. |
