Manzana is an awesome player. He is everything you want as a host - active, funny, and best of all, an extremely good player. Despite losing, I consider his game in FML's Pearl Islands is 2007 to be a very good one, especially since he was only one vote away from winning.

Manzana is one of the cast members who I thought I'd never be able to get into my first game since I rarely see him play. I asked him one night, and the next morning he agreed, saying that there were tons of reasons not to play, but you only live once. See? That attitude rocks.

He chose to play as Jerry, predicting himself to be the older guy in the cast. Jerry was immediately liked by everyone, both in his own tribe and Jalapao. He was such a nice, easy-going dude who didn't make waves and was friendly with everyone, without coming off as fake. He formed some very quick alliances within moments of PM access on the second night of the game.

So why did Jerry not even make the jury? The biggest reason was because his original tribe, Timbira, went on a major losing streak, winning only one immunity challenge before the merge. Jerry found himself losing a potential ally, Sierra, in the first vote, and watched his tribe split apart in the second. Luckily for him, Jerry was in the majority when he booted Debbie and Candace. The next two rounds were a little easier, as Timbira won immunity and then they had Carolina to vote out after her mutiny, but Jerry lost another loyal ally, Benjamin "Coach" Wade, right before the merge.

Jerry was kidnapped by Jalapao after the fifth Tribal Council. While in the enemy camp, he made some friends but couldn't figure out the inner Jalapao dynamics. The tribe loved him, but some, like JT, saw this as a gigantic threat. Jerry also told Jalapao that the idol had been found, and immediately people started pointing fingers at Timbira in terms of idol possession.

And this is why Jerry was targeted first at the merge. Thinking Tyson or Erinn had the idol, Jalapao split their vote with the majority going for Jerry. Since Erinn had it all along and didn't play it, Jerry was sent packing and was the last to join Loser's Lodge.

But for lasting seven rounds, Jerry was a joy to watch. He was by far the most impressive on the first night of PMs. The way he made a bunch of people on Timbira like him, and some even to trust him, was incredible. He was set up with a bunch of alliances before he logged off that night, but unfortunately he had to test most of these much sooner than he planned as Timbira went on a major losing streak. Had Timbira won a couple more challenges, there is no doubt in my mind that Jerry would have been a major contender to win the game in the end.

5^th place in the game

One of the three players in Tocantins who carried a schtick straight through their entire stay in the game, Sandy was a delight to watch as she was one of the most perceptive players of them all, yet lost power about halfway through the game so she couldn't do much with it.

Cassidy used the southern accent everywhere, and I'm sure it made it tough for people to figure out who Sandy really was. However, unlike what I witnessed from Cassidy in Gabon, he was a little more hesitant to make alliances, at least in the early days of Jalapao. Then again, so were a lot of people in that tribe. Sandy was active, but didn't make incredibly strong connections like Taj or JT did at the outset of the game.

Towards the end of the pre-merge period, Sandy became the #1 target on Jalapao because people just didn't know where she stood. She was saved by Jalapao's continued dominance in the challenges and entered the merge, where it was soon confirmed that she was on the outside of her tribe, along with Stephen. The two of them were the most instrumental in pulling together the coup at the final 9 against the Jalapao 4.

After Joe was voted out, Brendan began to turn and plot with Taj, Sydney, and JT. The interesting part was that Sandy knew it. She saw it coming. I remember the night Joe was voted out - Erinn, Tyson, and Stephen had gone offline. The only people left were Taj, Sydney, and JT, working furiously to win Brendan's loyalty again, Brendan himself, and then Sandy. This would eventually become the final five, ironically enough.

Sandy knew that the Jalapao trio were talking to Brendan that night. She said as much in her confessional, and then to her alliance the next day. They hoped it wasn't true, but their worst fears were realized - Brendan flipped and voted out Tyson, putting Sandy in the minority once again.

Sandy watched as her two closest allies, Stephen and Erinn, were voted out in 7^th and 6^th place, respectively. At some point during this mini pagonging, Sandy started a call-out thread at the Taguatinga (merged tribe) camp against Brendan. It didn't do much, but it was entertaining nonetheless.

One of everyone's favorite Sandy moments came at the final six immunity challenge. It was designed for the players to give each other small advantages. The alliance of four helped each other, while Sandy was all alone (Erinn was offline for that challenge). However, in a brilliant and hilarious twist of fate, Sandy kicked everyone's ass despite them all having a leg up on her. She won immunity, scaring just about everyone into thinking she was some sort of secret challenge whore who was just now showing her true colors.

Unfortunately, Sandy's possession of individual immunity was short-lived, as she lost the final five challenge and was voted out. She tried her best to get someone, anyone, to flip, but it didn't happen.

Sandy was definitely one of the most colorful characters in Tocantins, between her schtick (which she dropped by request when her coup was coming together), her call-out thread, her awesome final 6 immunity win, and just generally being a little crazy. Cassidy lived up to Sandy's persona, and it was hilarious to watch it unfold.
