Why he's #1 - Er I think what we should be asking is why he wouldn't be #1. This is quite possibly the most anti-climactic finish to a ranking ever, since we all knew how it was going to go down from day one. If only him winning the game was just as inevitable. =P So anyway, Cable dominated the game in every way imaginable. When PT actually tries (ie. doesn't come up with some OTT schtick that never gets him anywhere) he is damn good. In fact one of his first confessionals read:

I'm playing this game balls-to-the-walls and I don't care if that gets me in trouble. Because I'm not losing. I simply won't allow it. I've hit a string of bad finishes lately, and while most players would be disheartened or perhaps even adapt and play a winning sort of strategy to make up for their losses, I react to failure in the only way I know how:

KICKING ASS

And that's entirely what I intend to do. I won't be voted out of this game because I'm not going to let anyone vote me out of this game. I'll make friends and play nice and strategize appropriately. And if that fails, I'll win challenges and strongarm players and wreak havoc until this cast is flipped on its head. I am your winner, and you can take that to the bank. And it's because I'm the best player here, and I know it.

That almost made Quickie run off to have a quickie! =O Seriously though, Cable came into the game expecting to own some shit. And shit he did own! He was the main reason why his tribe never went to TC pre-merge. His challenge prowess put Tom Westman to shame. Post merge, he also won his share of individual challenges, so much so that people simply "assumed Cable will be immune." I hate challenge whores that are that good. But it didn't stop there. Cable had the social game to compliment his physical game. Not only was he #1 when the cast had to rank each other on likability, but he was at the center of the most dominant alliances in the game as well. On the Oogas he had Angel Dust. On the Love Tribe he had his Horsemen on top of that, a brilliant cross-tribal alliance that remained secret for almost the entire game. Cable wasn't going nowhere. He was front and center from day one and everybody knew he was the one to watch out for. Oh and he won the Mutant Baby Power search so many times...just to make sure the cast was even more royally screwed with him around, he found the HII too! Yet...when he finally wasn't immune...he wasn't voted off. o.o Because he perfected the "I'm your giant shield, you need me to survive" strategy...much to the dismay and agitation of the opposing alliance. There is no question in my mind (or anyone else's) that Cable would have won sitting next to anyone in the final two. It was inevitable. That is why the rest of his alliance finally did him in at final four because they were jealous c.unts it was the right thing to do and really the last opportunity to do so. Cable's confessionals were of course the most thorough, most organized and devilishly cocky. Though that's probably just a PT thing. For completely grabbing the game by the balls and pwning in every facet there is to excel at, is there any way Cable wouldn't be landing the 1st place finish he was robbed of in that game? =p

Why he's not lower - LOL I am so gonna revamp these categories the next ranking I do. There is no reason why Cable would be lower. Nobody even comes close to touching him when it comes to hogging the spotlight. As I said to him after his boot, when people look back on X-Men, they'll remember, "This was Cable's game." Well here we are...a couple months later and that hasn't changed. I'm sure PT's ego doesn't really need to get inflated any bigger, but you gotta give the guy his due, one of the strongest performances I've ever seen in an ORG. Way to go. =)

And of course this wouldn't be complete without various people's thoughts on Cable!

Polaris:

Cable is my bff here. We get along really well and I think thats gonna be my main alliance thingy at this point. So I expect it to be rigged so that he's on my tribe. Work on that.

Wolverine:

I like Cable, but I don't appreciate the likely edit he's going to get. There probably is an idol, and he probably already found it. You're going to spend an inordinate amount of time on him there talking about it, and probably HII related convos back at camp as well. I hate that, but otherwise I like Cable. I just wish I could persuade people like he can.

Gambit:

I mean, seriously, nobody would have given me a chance if I had gotten to the end with Cable. The hosts probably would have been like "Can we just skip the final tribal council kthnx!"

Cyclops:

After that night, I realized how awesome Cable is not only in challenges but in strategy as well.

I'm more stunned when people voted him as the most trustworthy. Eek

What I remember the most about Cable - Besides the complete domination? Actually having the self assurance/arrogance to know he was completely pwning the game.

After finding the idol:

Yup, the idol and the fact that I'm in such a beautiful position with the pieces aligned so perfectly. I'm sure there will be hiccups, but I'm confident I can win. I probably jinxed myself by stating it, though.

Lawl yes, that's the main thing. Never outright say you're gonna win the game...it usually doesn't happen. And if you actually do happen to win the game, I'm sure the editors will come up with something. <3

And that concludes the X-Men ranking! Damn these updates take a long time. Or maybe I'm just slow. I am now open to new ranking suggestions, but don't expect to get anything for at least a week.
