Anyhoo, found a house. It's beautiful, on a cul-de-sac, in the upper part of our price range. The house has already dropped 50K. The sellers are motivated, but their backs are not against the wall. The realtor is the sister of the owner and she's pushing us to put in an offer.
We have no realtor working for us and we've not done anything towards putting our house on the market, but we don't anticipate having a problem selling.
The house we're in now is our first home, we rented before that, so we've never sold a home before.
Question: What the hell do we do now? We'd like to put an offer in, but how do we figure out what that should be? Should we get a buyer's broker? Should we get a broker that will sell our home and help us buy this one? Do we make the offer without a realtor or broker?
Also, their realtor wants to come to see our house to assess its value. We were going to let her do it, but a friend of mine said she just wants more info on our house so she'll know what we can afford and kind of use that info against us. Is this true?
Sorry, but I know diddly about the housing market. Are there any good internet resources that will help me get edumacated?
Oh, and I know, kill myself.
