Earthworm Jim

This may come as a surprise since it DID make my top 100 list. How could it make that list, yet not even crack my top 25 Genesis games? I dunno. It is an awesome game that is very funny, challenging, and undeniably fun. But considering the fact that I only rented it and never owned it, hurts its ranking in my mind. Most of the games on this list I used to own and would play religiously nonstop, over and over again. I had Earthworm Jim for one weekend. Maybe I rented it twice, I don't know. Plus it has been so long since I played it. If I ever get a Wii and find this on the Virtual Console, I will definitely be getting it. And if I redo this list in twenty years.... who knows? It may make it.
Sonic & Knuckles

I don't have anything against this game. In fact, I really really liked it. This game allowed you to "snap on" to previous Sonic games, and use Knuckles as a playable character in Sonic 2 and 3. That's in addition to containing a completely original game at the same time. Buying this was like getting multiple games in one. But the fact of the matter remains that after three Sonic games, this game was just more of the same. I like all the games in the Sonic series, but if I were going to snub one from the list it would be this one because it is just so similar to all the other games.
Vectorman 2

LOL at those screenshots. Those were all I could find out there! This won't surprise anyone since nobody here even played the first Vectorman game let alone the second. I only include this on my snub list because so many video game magazines and critics out there herald this as the greatest Genesis game ever made. I don't see it. It's fun, there is no doubt about that. And the graphics are perhaps the best graphics the Genesis has ever seen. It's more challenging than the first Vectorman game, but still pretty darn easy. Overall it is still pretty much the same game, but with a few tweaks. I don't get what makes it so great.
Sonic Spinball

This game frustrates me because while I do indeed like it.... there is just something wierd and annoying about it that always manages to leave a bad taste in my mouth. This game plays out like a platform game where you have to go around killing enemies, collecting jewels, and that kind of thing. But there is the pinball element thrown into the mix. It's hard to explain but it's basically and action/adventure game controlled mainly by pinball flippers. When not getting flung around, Sonic can walk around, jump, spin dash, and all that. But those parts of the game are very few and far between. Perhaps because I suck at pinball, I have yet to beat this game. I always have very bad luck and fall right in between the flippers, or down the sides on the left or right. Ugh! The goal is to explore each huge, pinball based stage and kill a big boss at the very end. It is simple in concept but very very difficult.
Phantasy Star II

This game receives all kinds of accolades for being the very best RPG for the Genesis. Now THIS I don't get. I couldn't disagree more. I have attempted to play this game multiple times, and I just can't get into it. The graphics are not great. The storyline is a confusing mess. There is no direction in this game. The battle system is frustratingly horrible and difficult. The first time I played this, I rented it for the weekend and did not get anything done. I hated it. I was like - what a waste! I picked it up and played it again for Dreamcast on some kind of Genesis compilation disc. I thought that maybe I would enjoy it more in my old age than I did as a kid. I did not! I still hated it! I just don't get the love for this game at all. It blows.
