the loop only floods beneath street level, thus many people are unaware of it even happening. Chicago's loop is approximately four floors higher than it was back in the roaring twenties. Every once in a while street repair or sewage treatment will tear up a street and you can see the subterrainian bricked over windows of the lower floors. (think lower wacker and you get the idea, lower used to be street level)

As for Chicago sports, lolololololololol. 2005 world champs in baseball. Superbowl participants in 2006 and now they actually have a quarterback. Anyone wanna bet against the blackhawks winning a cup within the next three years??? At least chicago has sports teams in all sports, unlike some loser cities like, say, st. louis.
