Butterflies and Heaven Can Wait are up there on my fav MJ songs list. I really love both of those songs.
Remember the Time and Black or White are a couple of classic MJ songs too. Bad had a bunch of great songs (Dirty Diana, Man in the Mirror, Smooth Criminal, The Way you Make me Feel). I still think his best solo work was in Off the Wall, with Thriller a close second. |

It still saddens me to think about how he mutilated himself.. he looked his best during the 70s, especially in the video for "Don't Stop Till You Get
Enough" (basically the whole "Off the Wall" era).

I remember buying a 45 of "Dancing Machine" when I was a kid and trying to emulate his dance moves alone in my room! I was a painfully white kid from the midwest and MJ was the performer I most wanted to be. Later, I cringed and wondered "WHY??" as he slipped further and further away from any semblance of reality. What a waste...what a loss. |
