I didn't get how the judges let Reco's ignorance slid when it came to him not being familiar with a designer (even though he is in the fashion
industry) and not allow Angel's ignorance about what a "B-Girl" is. (a totally different culture than fashion).

The judges suck, and they love Reko. He had zero chance of going. He could have sent her out in a pillowcase with slits cut for neck and arms...he would have
still stayed.
Totally agree on the B-girl crap. I am not really into fashion and I did better on that pop quiz than almost all of them. |

I just thought the whole assignment was ridiculous. Again, complete snobdom from Isaac and Kelly. "You don't know HALSTON? Never speak to me!"
And there are a lot of designers who do not study all the other designers. Should he know Halston? Probably. Should a designer lose a challenge on this show
because they do not know a designer? Not IMHO. Missed the beginning of the eppie. Did they show examples of the featured designers' work?

What annoyed me was the "Reco, how badly do you want to be here?" from Kelly. Like that's at all relevant as to who should go home. I didn't
hear Hafen get to tell them how much she wanted to be there.
It was great seeing Reco cry like a bitch though. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 90% of the audience said they wouldn't buy his dress, right? And yet he stays. That had nothing to do with the fact that he didn't know Halston and all to do with the fact that his dress was UGLY UGLY UGLY! |

I think they showed one representative outfit from each designer. The very beginning was a fashion designer quiz, which is why that one woman got to pick who
got which designer.
I thought this one was a better idea that the stupid B-girls, Mean-girls, whatever crapola that was challenge. I just can't see how someone who wants to BE a designer doesn't know the history and icons of design. Aren't they supposed to be obsessed with fashion? How do you not know this stuff and plan to have a career? |

I didn't like Angel but it does make me mad that she was eliminated for ignorance for not knowin what a B-Girl is but Reco stays even though eh doesn't
know who a popular fashion designer is. . . and he's a fashion designer.

I actually think more people know what a B-Girl is (esp when other tell you it is Hip Hop) than know Halston. But I thought THAT excuse for dumping Angel was
horseshit, too. A lot of designers, especially from rural backgrounds, begin as seamstresses (I can't think of the male equivalent... tailors? well reco is
a seamstress), not fahsion afficionados. Artists don't always study all the other artists around, nor do writers read every writer. Most likely, there are
one or two they adore, and they generally pay homage to that one or those two... but I would doubt that most of those people knew all the designers in the
challenge.

AND I would agree with what the judges apparently thought: Bigger sin to KNOW and admire the designer and get it wrong than to not know the designer.

cginspace wrote: I agree if you ask normal people but asking people of fashion which of the two they knew more 95% would say Halston. With him being in the Fashion Industry I hardly find it fair the judges didn't come down on him harder for that. I mean they acted like Angel ate newborns when she said she didn't know what a B-Girl was. |

And Isaac looked like he was going to puke up the six Cosmos he just slurped down when Reco did not know Halston. No, they didn't axe him, but they looked
like they wanted to hide him in the attic for a few hours out of shame.

I am pretty sure my nursing instructors would KILL me if I didn't know who Florence Nightengale was; the same should go for any industry. Even I know who
Halston was, and I like wearing Old Navy.

They didnt' treat Reco the way they treated Angel though. They pretty much were implying she was blind and Kelly was pissed. With Reco only Isaac really
layed into him but Angel had much worse treatment.

You know who she was, but do you know what she looked like? Her motto? Reco said he had heard the name, but did not know the style. I find this a silly
argument. If he is self-taught, which I don't know that he is, I just don't see why he needs to know many designers. Again, he likely DOES know a few
that he loves. I bet he was not the only one there who could not do a Halston.
I actually really liked the Pucci reworking, myself. |

I also thought Haven's outfit wasn't as bad as they said it was and hated Merlin's more.
1.) Johnny 2.) Anna 3.) Daniella 4.) James-Paul 5.) Haven 6.) Merlin 7.) Reco |

But to be an actor must you STUDY Brad Pitt? Be able to emulate his style? No. To be a writer, must you know how to emulate Faulkner? No. It helps, but it sure
as Hell ain't necessary. Again, I think it was a stupid challenge. AND I think Angel was robbed a few weeks back. So there.
