i get the feeling that the big news sources don't dare report his death until there are either multiple confirmations or maybe they're waiting for all
of his family to get there. i was awake and watching tv the night that princess diana died, and there were all sorts of news reports. they started out small
and escalated until they could confirm and were ready to announce that she was indeed, dead. i remember after one source reported that she had died, another
reported that she had suffered a broken leg. it definitely seemed like a "your cat's on the roof" type of easing into the news of her death.
