Bayless seemed like a genuinely nice guy. I was definitely rooting for him.
Pig ears are really good as a flavoring component for soups and stews. Brazilians usually cook a pig's ear, snout or foot with their beans, and it adds amazing flavor.

That French guy was a complete douche.

The French guy kept pissing me off with his outright assholery. He really came off like an arrogant fucking jerk. Bayless, on the other hand, was good tv and will be good to see again when the final 6 compete. I was kinda rooting for the woman chef from Mustard's since I ate there in 1994 and still think about how much I loved that meal. The host really bugs me. It's that huge head on the tiny neck and scrawny bod. |

Last night also proved that the "winner" of the quickfire doesn't have to win the night. I don't care HOW they made the offal, but I would
never eat it.

The weirdest thing I keep noticing about the hostess is how she seems bored out of her gourd, then suddenly her eyes widen and she puts on that weird smile,
out of nowhere.

Question -
After all these mini shows w/ 4 chefs competing for a slot in the final group are over and we are left w/ the best of the best.. is it one big finale to see who is the winner of the remaining however many people it is (6? 7? I don't know) or is it then one show at a time as one at a time someone is eliminated? |

Now, I've eaten at TWO restaurants from chefs from this show (Mustard's in Napa following Jar). Ironically, both women chefs..

I keep thinking I should drive up to everyone's Italian Crush's place. And for a long time, I have wanted to go to Antonia's place. I have heard
good things, though it is pricey.

MENUDO?? A soup for hangovers? I thought it was a cheesy latino boys group from the 80's!!
I learn something new every episode of Top Chef, entertaining and enlightening!! Glad Bayless made it through. Looks like it will be a real competition with the 3 chefs so far. But still can't wait for the new season of Top Chef to start. |

Finally watched the rest of this episode this morning. I had watched through the Quick Fire and then got sidetracked. Was rooting for Bayless from the start
so I'm glad he won this round.
I really wanted to taste Bayless' dish. It looked good. French Fuck was an asshole and I had no desire to taste anything he made. |

I actually didn't care for Bayless. He reminds of a character Fred Willard would play (but not in a good way). Still he is obviously talented and the
finale showdown is looking very good.

I understand what you mean about Bayless, I actually didn't care for him at first either. But I liked his show and he grew on me. What some may perceive
as arrogance, in his case, is a real passion for the food. I believe he was sincere and truly wanted to help Frenchie. On the show he really looked like he
was having fun and was enjoying himself the most.

I liked the Puerto Rican guy a lot, too. It was actually the most likeable group, overall, yet... except for maybe the first week.

I love how Bravo was censoring all the english swear words, but frenchie kept swearing out with MERDE flying everywhere. So censoring swearing only applies to
english? That's a joke, just stop the stupid bleeping bleeps.
I wish they would have a wild card spot and bring Graham back again. At the very least he has to come back as a judge or better yet as mentor for the next Top Chef season. |

about that |

I thought I was the only one who liked Wilo Benet. I thought he had a chance since they showed his charity twice and was the only one for whom they showed
overwhelmingly positive public's feedback. Figured they were trying to "justify" his win since the judges obviously liked Bayless better. It was
the first time this season I was kind of surprised at the results. In the past shows, I was able to tell not only the winner but also the placements within 10
minutes of the show, even before they showed the quickfire results.
