It has been reported actress Farrah Fawcett has received the last rites in hospital.

The claim was posted on the Hitman PR blog of Allen S Miller, who claims to represent Fawcett and her business partner Greg Lott.

"Farrah … is in intensive care and is supported by Catholic priests consistent with her faith," Miller wrote.

"I have reports that Farrah has received last rights.

"It is time now to make contact with your god and say a prayer."

The news comes only days after long-time on-off partner Ryan O'Neal told US TV they planned to marry.

"I've asked her to marry me, again, and she's agreed," an emotional O'Neal told veteran reporter Barbara Walters in excerpts of the interview on the US ABC News website.

O'Neal's claim was met with outrage by Miller, who accused the faded star of soliciting sex from young women as recently as last month and of treating Fawcett's elderly parents and Tawny Kitaen with disrespect.

"Ryan why do you hold Farrah in so much contempt that you would do this to her," he wrote.

"There was a day when people like you did not even go into public, let alone be interviewed on a respected talk show.

"This is a sad commentary on the world we live, when your words not actions are accepted as fact."

Four hours later, Miller claimed that O'Neal had moved to shut a website set up in Fawcett's but promised to "continue on".

O'Neal and son Redmond - whose mother is Fawcett - were arrested for methamphetamine possession in September last year.
