I'm so on the Pono train that I might be the conductor.

Monsieur Muggles wrote: They've done this every year. And it's not like the choreographers work with the dancers for three days, anyway - they work with them for a few HOURS, and beyond that, the dancers are on their own. There is plenty of time in the week for a choreographer to devote a couple of hours to two pairs. The question is, do they have the creativity to create two [equally] brilliant pieces? If not, one of them will pale in comparison...
The waltz was shoeless, but Jason wasn't IN the waltz. He and Caitlin wore shoes in their Paso Doble, didn't they? |

Random musings:
Someone needs to inform Mandy that there's music outside of 1980-1989. Plus her routine was nothing to write home about. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the Caitlin/Jason paso doble was awful. And I thought the Sabra/Neil paso doble was overrated and overpraised. There was no chemistry and passion between the two. I think Caitlin is holding Jason back big time, although I didn't think he was that great either. She has beautiful lines and great movement, but it looks like she dances with no confidence and assurance in her abilities. Maybe it's time for her to go. Speaking of holding someone back, Jonathan is the biggest albatross on the show. It looks like last week was an anomaly and not the norm. Karla was solid in the hip hop, but he was atrocious and out of sync. He lucked out in the first week because Tony was there with him. If he's there again, he won't be so lucky, or at least I hope he isn't. I also hope that Nigel's "bet" on them landing in the bottom three doesn't backfire and spare them from potential elimination. While I'm on the judges, Nigel was a huge pain in the ass, and although she still sucks as a judge, Toni was nowhere near as bad as she was last year with her street obsession. Bottom three predicitons: Karla/Jonathan Asuka/Vitolio Caitlin/Jason Out of the girls, I think Karla is in the most danger, because although she's been better than Asuka and Caitlin IMO, those two seem to have the judges support, plus they were shown more than her. She (Karla) may have to have a superb solo in order to stand a fighting chance; if it's anything like the first week, she's as good as gone, although I think Asuka and Caitlin should leave before her. As for the guys, it should easily be Jonathan, although there's a slight chance Vitolio may be the one axed instead. |

I haven't had a favourite couple until last night. It is Ade & Melissa. I like other parts of couples, but I don't like them together. I like Evan.
Not too fond of Randi although I did like her untitard girl t-shirt she had on in the package thuogh. I like Vitolio but not Asuka. I like Jason for the most
part not catilin.
My bottom 3 predictions are: Karla/Jonathan Caitlin/Jason Kayla/Kupono I think that Caitlin will go. Karla had a great solo last time. Caitlin Does tricks & there is no way that they will let Kayla go. As for the Guys, Jonathan is gone. Even if Vitolio is in the bottom, they like him too much to get rid of him. I think that most of the couples are mis matched & had they been somewhat different, we would like different couples. Question: Does Brandon remind anyone of Carlton Banks(Fresh Prince)? When he was doing the dialing numbers with the fingers it hit me. |

Seriously wrote:That's why I like when she choreographs. She can't be on the panel. That, and her routines are usually awesome. I liked the waltz too, but I have to step off the Kopono love train now. I simply can't handle a male that queeny. If he didn't talk or move, he'd be so great. Perhaps I have some self-loathing issues to work out, and that's fine, but he makes me so uncomfortable I want to crawl inside myself.I find it hard to take him seriously when he's dancing with a woman because of this. He needs to be like Joshua last year who made me believe he was into Katie during the dances even though I knew he wasn't.

I found the music for the Paso very distracting. I kept waiting for James Earl Jones to slither out onto the stage in a Giant snake costume.

I love Carmina Burana. I have both played percussion & Sung it! I think the music choice wouldn't have been so bad if the dancers were hitting it
harder. If a real professional latin dancer did it, it would have been fan-frickin-tastic! It's like the paso that Jesus & Sarah did to we will rock
you. It worked better, because they were better at the dance & the personality to pull it off.
I understand tradition, but I am also all for stepping out of the box. But if you stepp out of the box or do something different to out do people than it just becomes annoying. I liked Mia's piece this week & also the group number. I loved the park bench as well, but I found the flowers boring. I think she is one of those who is trying to do something that is note worthy. But the simple ones seem to work the best for her for me (Thanks Randy Jackson). Maybe she's in a better mood these days. I found after Ramalama in season 2, everyone has been trying to top Wade Robson. He is a great choreographer, very unique. I don't think he is about trying to out do anyone, if you watch other routines he does, there is always a similar element. But after everybody went gaga for Ramalama, I think all the other choreographers felt they needed to do more avant-garde stuff. I think Mia may have been one of the people who fell into that trap more than anyone else. Maybe she's sorted it out now. |

Philip is the only interesting contestant this time. Nigel's overdone bashing of him makes him even more interesting. That and his ripped pants.
Of the rest I don't care who goes or who wins. I will likely stop watching when Philip is let go. The season drags on too long and we have the Canadian version starting up in August and another US one in the fall. Just too much for me. |

I am standing by my opinion that as of right now this group of dancers is worse than last year's (which was no where near God awful. The judges overpimped
fuckng Twitch but they are doing that this year with shitastic dancers like Jonathan and one of the generic blondes. They do it every year, so why should this
year be any different).
No one stands out for me. Not a single one. Except for maybe Brandon and that's only because I keep expecting him to break out into a Carlton Banks dance routine to It's Not Unusual by Tom Jones :/ |

Just posting my Melissa, Pono, Jason, Kayla, Jeanine <3
Therefore, expect all of them to be in the bottom 3 couples this evening. I'd be thrilled to see Miss Piggy & any guy to go that isn't named Pono or Jason. |

I totally agree with you AMT. The Paso Doble should be danced to Spanish (or Galician) type music. It has more power and presence that way to me.

O Fortuna was just a bad choice because it is so overused in media. It takes you almost instantly out of the dance and into "Where have I heard this
song?"

BJ wrote: LOL at overdone bashing. Last week, Phillip should have been GONE. This week, Nigel says how amazing Phillip is in his own style, and askes him to put more into it. He never used his usual "too feminine" or "no contact with your partner." He just said Phillip needed to sharpen up... which was right on. |
