Why can't these women agree that hitting some one isn't a good idea. Period. Men shouldn't hit women or men, and women shouldn't hit men and women. It's that simple. And I really don't care for being provacative. Some one could be provoked and still do nothing. And even if a man was provoked it's still not a good enough reason to hit back. I hate the idea tha Whoopi was insinuating the idea that it's okay for a man to hit back if the woman hits first. It's not a good thing to do in return, it's not a good thing to do in the first place. Just don't hit. Period.

Wth are you talking about. It's not up to you to stop some one else from hitting you, people control themselves not others. A child doesn't think on the same wavelength as an adult. And men and women should know better than to hit others as a way of getting their point across. What you're saying is that it's the person who got hit that is at fault here not the person who was doing the hitting. That is completely absurd.

What he's saying is that if someone attacks you, you have the right to attack them in defense until they back down.

That's not what I was talking about. What I was referring to was to not hit at all, and not to use any sort of instigation or provocation (which can be non violent) as an excuse to hit people. And even if some one was to hit you that is still not a good enough excuse to hit them anyway. And your example of a child being hit is again misleading. If a child is hitting you it means that they don't know any better. Hitting them in return is not going to teach them to stop hitting you or others, but will reinforce the idea that hitting is a good way to get your point across. Each person has a choice, and that choice is not contigent on what others are doing, but what you think is best for yourself.
