What brought me here, you ask? Well, I decided to Google the "American Idol Adam Lambert - The Movie" documentary video I made, to see if anyone was talking about it anywhere other than Demonoid, and this thread popped up. It took me nearly a week just to read through this thread, then another couple of days to check out the rest of the board, and it looks like a pretty cool forum, so I decided to join.
Being a 40-year old straight man, my interest in Adam has nothing to do with his hair, his eyes, his fashion sense, or his crotch. I simply recognized, from the beginning, that he had a unique talent. "Ring Of Fire" brought him to the forefront, for me, and made him my favorite contestant. From there on, I was hooked, and looked foreward to seeing what the boy would do next.
Around mid-season, I decided to start collecting the episodes. Around Top 4 week, I began editing out the parts that dealt with Adam, with the intention of stringing them together, to make it easier to watch just his performances. With the addition of a couple of other clips, that I found here and there, I ended up with what a few of you, along with over 600 other people at Demonoid, have downloaded. The feedback on it has been amazing. I figured there would be at least a few negative comments, talking about the obviously amateurish nature of it, but the "reviews" have been very complimentary. One girl said, "Have I told you how much I love you (for this)", which I thought was hilarious.
"- The Concert" is officially the most downloaded thing that I've ever uploaded, anywhere, currently just shy of 1000 downloads. Considering that I did it as an after-thought and that it almost didn't even happen, it's popularity is a pleasant surprise.
Enough about that, though. Here's what I've learned from reading through this thread: Adam is "hot" (at least, to most women and many gay men), the fact the he's gay came as a shock to absolutely no one (myself included), Perez Hilton is a douche, Adam's family is pretty cool, Clay Aiken is a pimple on Perez's ample buttocks and, lastly, people just can't stop talking about the Glambert.
I look foreward to getting to know many of you.
