Apples and oranges.....Dancing with the "Stars" is a completely different working environment than I'm A "Celebrity" Get Me Out Of
Here.
It's like comparing American Idol to Survivor. |

So what was the original plan? Just the governor himself? Or, him and his wife?

There are easier ways to earn money for charity. It's really easy for bloggers to pull dollar amount out of their asses. I think you need to use logic here in which to believe. If they are being paid what you think then they all need to fire their agents and managers. |

What I'm saying is that the jizzstains on this show are not being paid what "actors" get paid because they are not considered "actors"
in this situation but 'contestants'. That keeps the network from paying shitloads more for contractual stuff.
Yes, there are easier ways for them to make money for their charities but not with this kind of exposure on prime time TV 4 days a week. |

These people are so not there for their charities. Not even close.

I realize that Carboy. They are there for EXPOSURE, attention, camera time, media reports. But the premise of the show is that it is supposed to be
about their charities & they are considered contestants & not actors. (Of course they do the requisite amount of acting in that they jump when the
producers say jump & discuss certain things when they are told to.)

The jizzstain cohost who does nothing but read off a telepromter is being paid half a million. She doesn't even have a following in the US, where most of
the cast of jizzstains do, which attracts viewers. The DWTS cast are contestants too, not actors, so I'm not following your logic here.

It's not who they are but what they are paid to do. It's about unions & stuff.
Here's an article explaining what I mean. |

That's an interesting article, but the real issue is do you think for one minute that Janice Dickison would work for less than Myleene whatsherface? And in
rough conditions?

I understand your point of view Fluffy, but unless you have something credible to back it up I respectfully submit that your POV is no more credible than our
own. I think someone like Janice can negotiate a fee of $50,000 / episode. I've got nothing concrete to back it up...I'll admit it. But if the lame
host is getting $500,000 then I'm inclined to believe Janice is getting much more than that. NBC is producing this...not BRAVO.

She'd have to if she wanted on the show bad enough. She did the British version too & knew what she was getting into. Janice gets a compensation &
Myleen gets a salary. She might not even know what Myleen is getting paid. Those things can be hushed up till all the contracts are signed.

"NBC is producing this...not BRAVO."
Exactly. NBC, the brokest, cheapest network on the air. |

Carboys Desire wrote:I think Blago's attorneys submitting to the judge that he was to be paid $80,00 an episode is pretty credible. Some blogs reported that as per week, but the Sun Times said per episode. He would be considered a top tier contestant due to his notoriety. I think Janice, Sanjaya, Speidi, LDP, and possibly Stephen Baldwin would be paid around the same. They are not going to negotiate deals and be treated like any old nobody trying to get on Survivor or the like. If Janice is being paid $10,000 - then I'd like to see someone slip into camp and inform her what that moron hostess is being paid and watch the fallout. You've seen nothing yet.

Well, then if Blago was supposed to get that much then I'll stand down on my theory they get paid paltry sums. Only if that is a per episode amount &
not a per week amount.
Thanks for the discussion guys. <3. |

OK, I think Blago and Blago's attorney's put out some varying info regarding how much he could get if he were to be on the show, perhaps even making it
sound more than it was to try and convince the judge to let him go.
This blog from the Sun-Times has Blago earlier in the story saying he could get as much as 80K per episode and then has the most recently posted figure: a maximum of $123,000 for a month's work. http://blogs.suntimes.com/blago/rod-blagojevich/2009/04/ |

Were they talking about what they could make for their charity or what they themselves would be compensated? I'd think they would lo-ball it for the judge
so he wouldn't be 'jealous'.

If Blago's attorneys low balled or exaggrated a figure of what NBC and ITV had offered, they would be committing perjury. I think the vast difference in
figures comes from inept reporting and bloggers copying stuff and not checking the source. I think, and I may be wrong, the original report was $80,000 and
episode. That would have come from real news reporters who were at the hearing.

There's no fucking way these d-listers are getting that kind of cash.
Remember NBC going bonkers when the Friends cast wanted $100,000 an episode, and that was once a week, and the highest rated show on television at the time. If these folks are getting $10,000 a week I'd be surprised. |

MATTHEWS: This is Rod Blagojevich, the recent governor of Illinois, flying in this weird-he's actually hamming it up here, pretending he's flying like-this is him. This is not-this is Rod Blagojevich. It's one of these pictures, you say, I can't believe what I'm seeing here. And it was suspended, by the way, in front of what we call a green screen. It's a promo suit for the show "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here." |

Say Janice gets $50,000/episode.
4 episodes / week 1 = $200,000 3 episodes / week 2 = $150,000 That's $350,000 so far. That's not that much for living out there for what, 2.5 weeks now? The friends cast wanted $100,000 / episode x 6 cast members x 22 episodes ON TOP OF the regular prodution costs (writers, producers, directors, studio time, equipment, costumes, and on and on and on...). Reality shows have low production costs and wrap up the shooting within a few weeks. I imagine a reality show in Costa Rica has even lower production costs due to cheap labour. I think it's possible, especially with the licensing fees they collect to air this shit around the world. |
