i think we already established that 19 and 20 will be filming back to back. kthxbye but wouldnt this mean that Season 20 is gonna need some new name? like how
All-Stars or Micronesia were filmed in the same location as Pearl Islands and Palau, but had new names?

Survivor 20: Coming of Age

So to summarise:
Survivor 19: Samoa - May be starting to film next week Survivor 20 - Looks like it'll be filmed back-to-back with season 19 - Should finish filming near the end of September - Also in Samoa - Could be an All-Stars season (I think that's more than a 75% chance given all these facts) |

Even if they were using it to deter people from the fact that it is an all stars season, that'd simply be a waste of paper and video tape. Not to mention the application tells them that filming will occur between this summer and fall--so there may be some cases where they couldn't just say "actually you'll be on 21 and it will film in the spring". We'll see though. |

but what other twist could it be? what else could they call it? its not like its moving to a chain of islands close by, so they could call it Survivor: Island
X. There wont be two Survivor: Samoa's. The ONLY season to be known by ONLY a tag or twist is All-Stars

If 20 is the final season, I can imagine them calling it something location-neutral like "Survivor: The Final Adventure" or something similar. That
way they could stay in Samoa without having to be "Survivor: Samoa 2". This doesn't necessarily mean that the final season will be All-Star
related. It could be very "back to basics" and twist-less (or, the more likely option, they could throw every twist imaginable in a last ditch
effort to be interesting).

so basically, we are left wondering what is gonna happen, and pretty much we can guess as much as we want, but we wont know til they announce Survivor 20 or we
get a leak.

I can't imagine that they would be doing another All-Stars just yet. Most of the good people were taken for FvF.
However if s20 is indeed in Samoa, there'll surely be a strong twist/theme. But there are plenty of other options for them to take. I suspect choosing to film back-to-back is a budget thing from CBS. Didn't they just cancel Without a Trace and Cold Case for budgeting reasons, even though the ratings were ok? (I'm not in the US and I can't remember which network those shows were on). So now SEG needs to find a theme to make s20 seem fresh. |

Probst has made it clear lately (particularly in his blogs during Tocantins) that he is very keen for another All-Stars season 2. Micronesia wan not a full All-Stars season. A total of only 9 players from seasons 9-15 were chosen. There are numerous players from these seasons (eg. Shane) who I'm sure they'd love to include and would have been included in Micronesia if it was a full All-Stars season. 3. Additionally, players from seasons 15-18 (or maybe 19) will probably make up the majority of the All-Stars cast, along with a few of these people from seasons 9-15. 4. The characters from seasons 15-18 (particularly from Gabon and Tocantins) have been some of the most memorable characters we have ever had on Survivor (whether they were loved or hated - Sugar, Coach etc). China seemed to be the rebirth of Survivor after a lacklustre period from seasons 9-14, and there have been so many memorable characters since then who could all be included in an All-Stars season. I think the Survivor producers would be wanting to take advantage of this sooner rather than later, and this could lead to them having a full All-Stars in season 20. |

Oh and:
5. The fact that they're filming back to back and in the same location of course strongly points towards a need for a big twist in the second season, namely All-Stars. |

I think it's safe to say that because it is in Samoa again there WILL be some sort of twist. Maybe not necessarily Allstars, although that seems most
likely, but we could get something like Battle of the Sexes(again), Couples, Old vs Young. Something along those lines although hopefully something much more
creative and interesting than any of those. It's a game of wait and see, but the speculation is fun.

I hope they don't do couples, it messes too much with the concept of Survivor. I can't think of any twist apart from All-Stars that could work for season 20. |

It could be the other way around - last season was fairly lean on twists, so the first Samoa one could be the crazy-ass throw in everything, then another back
to basics.
Either way, seems like great spoiling potential for the second one, as the crew fraternize longer on Samoa, and with the extra long wait between shooting and airing. |
