winning. I loved that Kate did not pick Philip for her team.

I was so worried about coming in here and completely avoided it until I had watched the finale and I see only one person has posted about it with spoiler tags.

YASMINA WINS!
I thought she did a fantastic job. She picked all the interesting people for her team unlike Kate and her group of buttoned down types (excepting Debra). Debra would have made a good finalist too if she had made it. Thank god she spoke up about what was turning out to be a box of tampons or condoms and Kate changed it. I thought the shelves idea was good but it became watered down with the "to share" drawer. Bleh. It was so hilarious that no one chose Phillip until the end and Kate had passed over him completely (aaawkwaaaard).
Yasmina clearly knew what the target market was, had the right idea on the cost and price point, had a great marketing strategy and great design. There was nothing wrong with it and if the only thing about it was taste, that was easily solvable with a little time. Not a problem. Everything else was spot on, except for the cheesy ad which was understandable with the time contriants. Best final 2 by far and best winner, I feel. And finally someone I was rooting for! |

Well it's been a day since the finale so I don't think we need to worry about spoilers.
Both did fine but big BOO to the winner. I'm sorry but she was just... there. I never found her all that interesting or dynamic a contestant. In the final task Kate did a better job and had the better product. Pricing was the problem but that's easier to fix than taste and a rather generic idea. Wacky flavours? Yasmina is not a bad winner, certainly one of the better ones but still she didn't hold a candle to Kate in my opinion. but double BOO to Margaret not being in Series 6. |

I disagree, CP. I thought Yasmina was, as shown, to have a better grasp of the marketing and pricing side, with good reasons for targeting what she was
targeting. The taste can be fixed. It was not an issue. Kate's price on the other hand could not be adjusted because she used expensive ingredients to make
the chocolate taste as well as it did. That was why the price actually rose during the task. It was the soap situation all over again.
Say what you will of chocolates with whacky flavors, romantic chocolates are closer to generic than that. |

I thought the right one was hired. And not just from the final task, but on accumulated performance.
As for their final task, while Kate's was cute and all -- why limit your market so much? As if the high price doesn't already limit the market. It's nothing that anyone but a couple would buy. And how often is that why someone buys chocolates? And not just that, I also thought it was a big mistake to mark them "his" and "hers" because even there, you're limiting it to heterosexual couples. "Yours, Mine & Ours" would be so much less specific. So Kate would be able to sell her $20 box of chocolates to heterosexual couples with disposable incomes Yasmina's team was correct. Given the short time on the project, you're not going to have time to formulate the best product. That can be worked on. And the pricing meant her target market was anyone and everyone. Huge bummer about Margaret. I really like Sir Alan, and like this version of the show, while I can't even bear to watch that toad Trump. |

I think the UK fucks up the whole "don't make the winner obvious in the edit" classic Mark Burnett tip. They not only hide the winner most of the
time, they make them seem incompetent.
I mean Christ, last season they had the dude who couldnt spell and lied up and down on his CV and then we didnt really see him most of the show. This season they have this invisibitch who was rarely highlighted all season long. Easy way to spot next years winner: Look for the most understated, invisible person. |

The paradox of shows like The Apprentice is that genuine dynamic entrepreneurs make very lousy ass-kissing management lackeys because they tend to follow orders poorly due to their independence and way of thinking. And yet this is exactly the kind of person the show claims to be looking, which is not possible because there is no way Sir Alan will hire another Sir Alan. |

I just finished up season 5 and I'm sort of surprised by some of the reaction here. I had Yasmina pegged as the winner (or likely finalist) from fairly
early on.
One thing I do have to say, is I hate Ben more than I've ever hated any Apprentice candidate in any season Uk or US. He's a fat, moronic midget and I'd like to watch him slowly bleed out on a large pile of acidic salt. I've been kind of banging through the UK series and I'm sad to be caught up. UK Apprentice is infinitely better than the US. |

plastic kate hate. she was way too smiley for me. i am constantly amazed at how this show holds my attention season after season, while the trump version is laughable.

come on... it was pretty obvious who will NOT be the winner since day 1. Noorul, the bearded guy, Loraine, Phillip, the cuddly funny guy, Mona were all part of
that group. you can just tell from the way people come across.
so it was pretty easy to see who could be the possible winner. |
