Prior reality show appearances haven't stopped SEG from casting certain contestants before--Survivor was the second reality stint for both Daniel Lue and Travis Sampson, and maybe some others later on?

Does anyone else remember how up in arms people were when Gary Hogeboom was spoiled for Guatemala? And hell, he actually applied for it. If we'd only known that just two years later the producers would actively seek out a WWE diva and a professional poker player...not to mention a NFL wife/former pop star in Tocantins. Why do they feel a need to have semi-recognizable people on all the time when it clearly doesn't help the ratings at all? At least on Amazing Race, Mike White's awesome dad made that bit of stunt casting worthwhile.

You know, I wouldn't even mind if they got like an actual, legit celebrity (if Ray Romano's still interested, call him; Tom Green somewhat stretches the title of celebrity but at least he's legitimately entertaining and he told Probst he'd love to do it, and Burnett could probably pull some strings with the citizenship issue considering Tom was on Apprentice). The only problem is you know they'd dominate the airtime but at least it would legitimately earn some attention for the show. I don't think there are too many people out there thinking "Oh man, one of the girls from SWV is on Survivor--I haven't watched since season 2 but I can't miss this!"

It's amazing that a one-time NFL quarterback has actually been one of the most regular and relatable people cast on this show in the past nine seasons.
