On EW's surprisingly excellent ranking of the top 20 best reality shows (could've used The Mole and The Contender though), TAR comes in second only to Survivor. Debate that if you will--my personal take is that TAR is much more consistent, but when Survivor's on its game it's unbeatable. Anyway, the real highlights are their totally spot-on picks for "Best Season." Survivor and The Apprentice's debut seasons obviously come out on top, and their Dr. Will love is evident by selecting BB2.
But the biggest--and most pleasant--surprise is that for once, accuracy prevails and TAR2 is heralded (correctly, I might add for the third time) as the best season. I must say I was in a sublime state of awe upon seeing that. I figured they'd hop on board the "appeal to casual fans" train and give the nod to TAR7, or repeat the consensus that the overrated TAR5 is top dog, or (in what would admittedly be less terrible than either of those options) go with the "first is always the best" mantra and pick TAR1.
So basically this topic doubles as "Talk about EW ranking TAR as the second best reality show ever" and worship for TAR2, the best season of all time (because when some journalist from Entertainment Weekly says it, you know it's true! And when I say it, it's even more evident).
