Kimbo Slice on Survivor?? |
Lead | |
|
So a very reliable source in the MMA world informed me that Kimbo Slice was approached by the producers to be a contestant on the next season of Survivor. If
true this wouldn't be too far of a stretch; he's a very entertaining character and is clearly physically built for the game. Plus he has former ties
with CBS as he has appeared a couple times on their Saturday Night Fights. If he were on the next season it could be pretty interesting..

He's on Ultimate Fighter, not Survivor.

I actually know his agent pretty well; he told me that Kimbo was at least approached by the producers to appear on "Survivor". It may not be the next
season, but it might be Survivor 20 after he's done with "The Ultimate Fighter". His agent also told me that Kimbo would be very interested in
the opporotunity. Who knows, maybe if the Ultimate Fighter doesn't work out, this will give him another try to jump-start his career. And judging by all
those promos of him we saw during Gabon, CBS seems quite fond of him. He provided alot of good TV, even if he lost to that gay dude with the pink hair. This
may be CBS's way of bringing him back.

Well now this is interesting. I, of course, had absolutely no idea who "Kimbo Slice" was, but guessing from the line "I know his agent" I
assumed he was some kind of celebrity and looked him up. He is not a celebrity, just some sort of fighting person, perhaps known only to the most retarded* of
our society. So while the majority of Survivor viewers, who are for the most part not retarded, won't know who he is, the contestants, who for the most
part are retarded, might know who he is. A unique dynamic indeed.
*My store carries a handful of UFC/EliteXC videos. They are rented exclusively by the mentally challenged. That is not hyperbole; literally 100% of rentals on those titles come from mentally challenged adults. |

Let me tell you, if he's interested in being on Survivor he will most definitely be cast, most likely for Season 20. And if he is cast, not only will he be
an interesting character (Rupert 2.0?) he will be a physical demon in the challenges. The producers are brilliant to recruit Kimbo Slice; he will bring an
interesting dynamic to the game, and will certainly boost ratings as there are people who know him (even though Antithesys is right, the average viewer
probably wouldn't.)

Isnt there a wrestling tv show called Survivor?

There may be but this is not that, I'm talking about the CBS show Survivor. And there is no misunderstanding. Kimbo Slice was approached by MB and the
Survivor producers to be a contestant on the show.

I think it's doubtful, he started the taping for The Ultimate Fighter 10 sometime this week, which lasts around 6 weeks. If has any success in the show which starts in Sept, Dana White will have him fighting on the finale show in Dec, meaning he'll
need at least a 6-8 week training camp in prep for that. White knows just as much as EPMB the draw he can have for their respective shows, so I don't see
it happening for Season 20, season 21 on the other hand...

From what his agent told me, it sounded like Kimbo Slice told the producers that he would be on the next season that he would be available on, so that means
whenever he's done with Ultimate Fighter, he's going to be looking into being on Survivor. And for people who don't know what he looks like, here
he is:

No. I'm sorry, but I don't want to see my Survivor castaways being shuffled in from other reality shows.

Kimbo Slice is NOT going to be on Survivor. This guy trains all year long for his events---I doubt the guy even watches TV. If he was to be on one of the
tribes, they would need to make every challenge at least 75% mental or his team would dominate the entire game----take the bag carrying challenge from
Palau---this guy could carry the entire weight of all of the bags and still beat the other team. At some point it's just not logical.

Kimbo would be a huge asset physically, and you're right, for some challenges, he probably would be too dangerous of a threat. But most challenges on
Survivor involve some sort of a mental aspect, so Kimbo could probably only carry his tribe to a certain point. I've also heard that Kimbo isn't a very
strong swimmer, so if he's on a season where a bulk of the challenges involve swimming, it may even out.

And for people who don't know what he looks like, here he isIs wearing his clothes crooked part of his Ultimate Fighter character? Or does he just not have enought flexibility in his arms to straighten them? |
