If he makes it, he may be the first guy with a full on Merril Steubing hairdo to make it to a reality talent contest finals. All but a handful of the auditioners for SYTYCD are professional dancers. Many of them are teachers. Then again, many of the finalists in AI are professionals as well (they just can't be under contract). After Natalie danced Sonia's routine with Brandon, I said to my wife, "What's the point in her dancing again?" Then she got cut after dancing it again. She killed it and they made it like she was shit, it was sickening. Meanwhile, Gaby..who sucks big time and fucked up royally on hip hop, got a second chance to come back and dance for her life to stay, and in my opinion still sucked ass but got to stay until group where they FINALLY let her stupid ass go. I just wish they gave her a verbal tongue lashing too, one as harsh as what they gave Natalie. They obviously were hoping this idiot would do better, and didn't even give Natalie a chance to prove herself at least. And that idiot guy with the briefcase and the gross Nigel obsession, did he even dance? Because I didn't see it. Why did he get to continue so far by just shaking his hips and focusing on that Nigel bullshit, even in his second solo? What a joke. Oh and sorry, I was digging her at first, but Asuka sucks asses, she is boring if anything and not as sexy as the bulk of ya'll think. She is overrated right now. The sexiest woman and best dancer in the 16 is that salsa dancer chick, she is the hotness. <3

She is overrated right now. I agree with most of what you said, but how has Asuka sucked so far: we never saw her dance except in ballroom, where she was great. I love Janette, too, though. I want them both to go far if they make it. I am very ready to hate one dancer: Phillip. He better dance legtimately well if he is in the top 20, since I know he will get a ton of votes just for being the Hok/Twitch of the season. None of this "really good for popper" crap; he's had two years to improve other styles.

I just think everyone is creaming over her so much just from her ballroom stuff is all. If she does kill it in other genres I will start to love her.

It seems to be the routine for this show that most of the dancers don't make it to the top 20 until their 2nd, 3rd or more audtion. After all, there are only 20 spots. Unless someone is near the age limit, no one should just give up after only their 1st or 2nd rejection. If you don't make it after the 3rd time and you are really skilled, then maybe I would consider giving up because there is probably something that will always keep you from making the top 20 (like no personality or a face that could scare little children).

I actually see the preview as foreshadowing something thaqt has already been mentioned in this thread: Big drama putting the two together, followed by the tense "Which will it be," followed by the "SURPRISE" of "The one going through is... both of you!" I think Ryan is a MUCH better dancer based on the snippets of group routines we saw last night. He has confidence and poise, though his humor is pretty lame, if you ask me. This also applies to Natalie. It didn't look like there was any real reason to cut her, other than to add to the drama and make her suffer (like they did Katee who kept getting cut at the final selection). I am 99.9% certain Natalie will be in the top 20 in the fall and with all the screen time she's had, she'll be the new "Twitch" although with talent and the judge's fave & America's fave. If she was hot, you damn well better bet she would have had a chance to dance for her life, no matter how much they thought she sucked in the group routine. Where was Pono? Damn them for treating him the same way they treated Mark last season and not giving him decent screen time. And apparently, he KILLED it in Vegas. At least those are the uncomfirmed rumours. I do not see, however, that they will make the same mistakes they made with Mark: undervaluing him in order to push others, which actually got him an extra week he maybe didn't deserve... We shall see. I think there needs to be a concerted effort this year to do a VFTW kinda thing, only it should be "Vote For the Unpimped ONLY." I am ready to sacrifice those who are pretty good but overly praised, as I think that funker Nigel needs to be taken down at least a peg. I also STILL love Mia. I think her choreography is amazing, and her judging, though harsh, always seems justified. She wants these people to take things seriously, and so does not cut them any slack.
