Matt310 wrote:She does. I don't know that her voice has ever sounded better. She looks huge-mongous in those pictures. WTF. Oh well, hopefully when she's ready to lose it she'll be able to. I just want her healthy and happy and to keep her vocals at the level they are at right now. The songs from AIEW seem to be a really good fit for her voice. Just 2 days before she looked like she had lost 10 pounds. Looks like she found those 10 and added another 10 to it. Maybe she deposited it in a fat bank and when she got it back it had collected interest? |

Dictatorship wrote: I can't see the artist when I play them on my ipod or cd player either so I don't understand why her looks would inhibit someone from buying a cd or downloading the cd for their ipod? The only picture I see on the ipod is the cover one and that one is mighty fine I must say lol Maybe they wouldn't want to buy her videos or live performances but .... recorded tracks? I don't get it. |

Who Made Who 2 wrote: you know, as unfortunate as it is to admit, people DO buy into the whole image thing. It sucks because they miss out on some pretty phenomenal talent by being so shallow but reality is our society is very driven by a standard of beauty that is both pretty unrealistic and almost unttainable for 90% of the population. People want to look at their pop stars and be in awe of them...not for their talent but for their looks. It's all surface and tricks. I'm actually quite impressed that Kelly dares to follow her own path. She's obviously making the conscious decision to NOT fit herself into that mold because as we all know, she's done it before and could easily do it again. I don't think her sales are particular due to her weight however, based mostly on the fact that she hasn't really been seen on American television much and when she was she looked pretty good (Ellen and Tonight show). I think what is impacting Kelly's sales is a lack of confidence due to my December and the overall sales slump of the CD industry in general. Could it turn around? sure. Will it? I'm not sure. Does it matter? Not at the end of the day. This era has been received as a hit by the media and that's the preception that everyone who isn't a hardcore message board/music follower believes it to be. and Dictator...sometimes even the senseless can make sense Just 2 days before she looked like she had lost 10 pounds. Looks like she found those 10 and added another 10 to it. |

I wonder if Kelly watches America's Next Top Model. She is using one of the techniques that Tyra suggested to the hamsters where you pose with the feature
you are trying to minimize away from the photographer.

Instead of riding the wave of fame Kelly Clarkson defies the Hollywood trend and is the ultimate anti-popstar. "I think I might be one of the only popstars not to deal with fame, I live in Texas," Kelly said. "I'm not into high fashion that would be the worst day of my life having to sit at a fashion show, I'm not that girl." Kelly Clarkson is the girl next door and seven years after she became an overnight pop sensation winning American Idol it appears fame just has not rubbed off. She is a tiny Texan with a big rock voice but do not ask her to read a gossip magazine. "There's either things that are just going to make you feel egotistical or there's going to be things that make you want to crawl up and die," she said. "Neither of those are really promising for your character so I don't read them." She still lives in the same area she grew up in. Her parents divorced when she was young. "It was pretty difficult, we had financial problems, all our problems, were centred around that." In high school, she found her voice. "It was my thing, I was never a drinker at high school, I did nothing wrong, I was a good student except for my mouth," she said. "I was a mouthy little girl but it helps me now with my singing and having an attitude." She was just 19 when the first American Idol auditions rolled into town. "Honestly we totally thought the show was going to be a flop, we no idea it was going anywhere, we were totally messing around." Four albums later Kelly Clarkson is a star in her own right and in Australia to promote All I Ever Wanted. She loves Australia and its musicians. "I love the Veronicas, I've just picked them to open in the states for me," she said. "I like AC/DC as well, their song is played on stage before I go on stage, since I started touring, Shook Me All Night Long, is my amped up song." Kelly Clarkson's latest album All I Ever Wanted is out now. |

springfeverish wrote:I think instead of having every song on the album cater to one type of music listener, Kelly probably wanted to do the opposite and have somthing in it for everyone. It's kinda like Kelly really wanted to come out with the most musically diverse pop album ever. So she probably expected some fans to not like a few songs too much. I dunno about unlistenable, but I agree IWY gets old after a while, however, and she probably should've replaced it with Tip Of My Tongue or one of the other bonus tracks. Although if it was up to me I would replace it with a song she wrote a while back titled Come Here, a rocker that expresses pretty much the same sentiment. I'd've kept IDNHU because it's radio friendly, but I think that the Can We Go Back bonus track pwns IICHY. And even thogh I LURVE Whya, I think it may stck out too much on this record. All and all it's her most pop record to date, but I still love it. |

In the wake of the eighth-season finale of "American Idol," several alumni shine on our various radio charts this week. Kelly Clarkson collects her ninth Mainstream Top 40 top 10 hit, as "I Do Not Hook Up" rises 11-8. The song is the original "Idol" queen's ninth top 10; only 10 artists can boast at least that many top 10s this decade Not to shabby for a has been |

Hmm, Kelly's had 9 top 10s overall, yet Carrie's had 10 number 1s in a row. Interesting.
