Are you serious with that shit? you know, as unfortunate as it is to admit, people DO buy into the whole image thing. It sucks because they miss out on some pretty phenomenal talent by being so shallow but reality is our society is very driven by a standard of beauty that is both pretty unrealistic and almost unttainable for 90% of the population. People want to look at their pop stars and be in awe of them...not for their talent but for their looks. It's all surface and tricks. I'm actually quite impressed that Kelly dares to follow her own path. She's obviously making the conscious decision to NOT fit herself into that mold because as we all know, she's done it before and could easily do it again. I don't think her sales are particular due to her weight however, based mostly on the fact that she hasn't really been seen on American television much and when she was she looked pretty good (Ellen and Tonight show). I think what is impacting Kelly's sales is a lack of confidence due to my December and the overall sales slump of the CD industry in general. Could it turn around? sure. Will it? I'm not sure. Does it matter? Not at the end of the day. This era has been received as a hit by the media and that's the preception that everyone who isn't a hardcore message board/music follower believes it to be. and Dictator...sometimes even the senseless can make sense Just 2 days before she looked like she had lost 10 pounds. It's kinda like Kelly really wanted to come out with the most musically diverse pop album ever. So she probably expected some fans to not like a few songs too much. I dunno about unlistenable, but I agree IWY gets old after a while, however, and she probably should've replaced it with Tip Of My Tongue or one of the other bonus tracks. Although if it was up to me I would replace it with a song she wrote a while back titled Come Here, a rocker that expresses pretty much the same sentiment. I'd've kept IDNHU because it's radio friendly, but I think that the Can We Go Back bonus track pwns IICHY. And even thogh I LURVE Whya, I think it may stck out too much on this record. All and all it's her most pop record to date, but I still love it.
