Even if you dislike her, without Kelly Clarkson there would be no S2-? winners. She made that show so anyone ranking her last
is just a bitter h8ter. And ranking Taylor high for good music and talent is just . I could see liking his performance skills
although I still can't stand him.

No. Kelly actually became the superstar that the show said it would find. The only other superstar winner is Carrie. The rest
are just running on fumes from the show's mass audience and publicity machine. Ruben, Fantasa and Taylor are not pop stars even if you like them. Jordin and Cook are barely stars less alone superstars. Kris - looks like another Jordin style winner to me. The show really, really needs another superstar because Daughtry is already three years ago. |

No, actually, the show is the star, and the fact is both Justin and Kelly were hugely popular after the show. But Kelly hadn't even put out her first
album when Season 2 started, and the show was recognized as a phenomenon even then. Then Clay went on to outsell Kelly's first album, and Everybody Loved
Simon. Then only AFTER that did Clive engineer Kelly's second album success to the top of the charts. By that time we were somewhere around Season 4, and
the Carrie phenomenon was about to begin.
I know, I know, facts are stupid things. But this myth that the show wouldn't have been around a second season without kelly is just that, myth. ^^* I agree about Allison. She's ready to go, and should do really well. |

I just think she should be given credit where credit is due that's all. It's impossible to say for sure whether Idol would've continued on had Kelly not been as successful...it might have...but would music have been so welcoming of these artists? I'd say no to that. Kelly proved that an actual legitimate musical star could be found on this show, that the public would vote for them and then they would support them after the show was over........ but let's consider that they were 4 seasons deep before they found anyone even remotely comparable to her. |

Disagree with the poster that said Allen would be up there with Kelly & Carrie & David. I say no way. Nice guy, cute, but just a mediocre singer.
Were more songs he butchered than sang well. Only 2 songs of his weren't bad, Ain't No Sunshine ('cept it sounded like he kept saying anal
sunshine) & Heartless, which was better than the original. The Don Henley song was so bad I had to mute & his performances, even at best, are just
unremarkable. People will forget him soon. Only way he won was Arkansas creaming themselves that they finally had some fame come to their state & cheated
with all the free power texting they received & having 6 hrs to vote, instead of the regular 4 like Adam's fans. The free AT&T phones came
equipped with west coast area codes so Arkansas Allen fans could vote 2 more hrs when the east coast time had stopped. Which should be grounds for cheating
but of course Fox is happy with their wholesome Idol & Adam doesn't need the title like Allen does. But cheating is still cheating. Next season you
can bet they'll be a limit on how many times each phone line can vote. Being able to vote quickly 10,800 times for free & for 2 extra hrs per person
quickly stacks up votes, opposed to no free AT&T phones for Adam fans & only the allotted 4 hrs. Alot of Adam fans couldn't afford to vote like
the Allen voters since they had to pay for each text or call & it's not cheap. Wish Adam fans would refuse to pay their AT&T bill & sue the
unethical bastards. I give Allen props for looking totally stunned & first words out of his mouth were "Adam deserved this." Pretty much sums
it all up right there. Sadly for Allen's sake, this season will go down in people's memory with being the one that Adam really won if you minused the
power texting software, free AT&T phones & extra time to vote. 38 million votes coming from a 2.8 million populated state tells ya right there
something stinks in season 8 of Idol. Adam will become a superstar regardless and a year from now, nobody will remember Allen except as the guy that
didn't really win. Singing should be done effortlessly & it was awkward & uncomfortable to watch Allen at times strive to hit certain notes.
Adam will always be the real winner of season 8 & that's what most people will remember of this season. Kris who?

2. David Cook - he was a breath of fresh air in that show & most talented top 12 of all seasons 3. Kelly 4. Carrie All the others weren't great. Fantasia screamed & I'll never understand how she even made it to the finals & Blake Lewis was a joke at F2. Jordin Sparks was boring. Reuben & Taylor were very likeable but forgettable. I want to see Jordin's birth certificate. No way is she 19. She looks 32. |
