A very nice article on NPR on why Kris won...has none of the homophobia stuff that the rest of the media is obssessed with. In fact, it doesnt even consider

in TWOP that Kris's version of NB has actually hit #44 in itunes in UK. According to this person, no AI winner has ever cracked the top 50 in UK.

I think we can conclude that Tuesday's performances of the song were a fluke. Even Adam's version sounds more tolerable on his recorded version.

I agree the song sounds much better with just guitar and piano.
Its still a fucking awful song, but he doesn't sound as bad as he did on Tuesday with it. |

Yeah, I think that's part of why people love Kris. His subtlety is exquisite, and he just has that honesty in him whenever he performs. And he's hot.
ETA: The hat kinda did make him look like a douche. Glad he threw that out.

Listening to Kris' pre-Idol album makes me really sad that he has to sing Kara's piece of crap. I mean..
"You can go higher You can go deeper There are no boundaries Above or beneath you" vs. "Familiar faces Fill my mind Pray they don't leave with the time" See, Kara, you can be sappy and sentimental without being over-the-top ridiculous. I'm not gonna say that Kris' lyrics are genius or anything but in the context of the song they are extremely moving in their simplicity. Anyway, I'm bored and wordy and am going to write up short reviews for all of Kris' pre-Idol songs because I like the sound of my voice (err.. the look of my posts?). 'Till then, I recommend you play "Land of Smiles" because it's pretty awesome. |

Kara & Co just rolled a big lyric cheese wheel onto what melody there was in NoBo. Kris has done the best he could with that hot mess of a coronation
song.

The Ellen site no longer has the acoustic version of NoBo up - it IS now Kris singing "Heartless" - which is still awesome.
I hope they show that version of NoBo on the show. I want to see it. |
